13-Year Old Cancer Patient Honored By President Trump Asks For A Favor From Jason Aldean: “Trying To Raise Money For Kids With Cancer”

Looks like the Secret Service is trying to get in touch with Jason Aldean. You may remember the heartwarming moment earlier this year when President Donald Trump surprised 13-year old DJ Daniel during a joint session of Congress by making the young cancer patient an honorary member of the United States Secret Service. What an incredible moment President Trump's just Direct Secret Service Director Sean Curran to names DJ Daniel a Texas boy battling cancer with his dream job to become a Secret Service agent. Secret Service gained an incredible new agent. Agent Dj pic.twitter.com/A76lyomJZ8 — Chuckyfamous! (@Nem_Famous) March 5, 2025 DJ was diagnosed with terminal brain and spinal cancer in 2018, and has since undergone 13 brain surgeries, despite only being given just five months to live at the time he was diagnosed. As Daniel said: “I’m gonna keep on going until my gas tank runs out. And that’s when God calls you home. You never know when God’s gonna call you home.” D.J. Daniel joined President Trump at the Joint Session—a 13-year-old battling cancer who has been sworn in as an honorary officer over 900 times. President Trump made his dream come true, swearing him in as a Secret Service agent. pic.twitter.com/HkVf8LlPTD — The White House (@WhiteHouse) March 5, 2025 But the youngster is also a big fan of law enforcement, and has been sworn in as an honorary officer by over 1,300 different departments, including ICE and the DEA. He’s become a major celebrity in the wake of all of his recognition and the struggles that he’s faced at such a young age. But unfortunately, Daniel is facing some new struggles after his father Theodis Daniel revealed last week that DJ has three new tumors: “He does have three new tumors. It’s rough. There isn’t a class that can teach you how to deal with it. You’re hearing that your child has a nasty disease.” After the diagnosis, the White House offered their support and prayers to DJ as he faces these new challenges: “We’re lifting up Agent DJ Daniel in prayer after his dad, Theodis, shared that DJ is now facing three new tumors. DJ is one of the strongest, bravest young men—and has now been sworn into 1,351 law enforcement agencies across the country. Agent Daniel, you’re a true legend.” We’re lifting up Agent DJ Daniel in prayer after his dad, Theodis, shared that DJ is now facing three new tumors. Let’s give compassion and let’s try to join and help each other get through things.’” And one of the things that he wants to do is organize a country music concert to help raise money for other children like himself who are battling cancer. But he needs a little help to do it. Daniel released a video on social media asking for help getting in touch with Jason Aldean for the event: “Hey, does anybody know Jason Aldean? Because we’re trying to do a country show down here to raise money for kids with cancer.” Obviously Aldean is also a big supporter of law enforcement, so it seems like a natural fit to ask his fellow Trump supporter to help him out with his charity concert. Jason hasn’t responded publicly to Daniel’s request, but I have a feeling that if anybody can make it happen, it’s Daniel. And he definitely has more than a few connections to Aldean who can probably put the two in touch. After all, when the Secret Service is looking for you, they’ll track you down sooner or later. @chrisdarlingtonmusic My little buddy, @Devarjaye Daniel “DJ” has a request! #jasonaldean #fyp #cancer #fundraiser ♬ On My Highway – Jason Aldean The post 13-Year Old Cancer Patient Honored By President Trump Asks For A Favor From Jason Aldean: “Trying To Raise Money For Kids With Cancer” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

NASCAR’s John Hunter Nemechek Might’ve Lost Some Fans After He Failed To Name Iconic Country Songs Like “Chattahoochee” & “Family Tradition”

This was hard to watch. Like a cold beer and hot dog belong together while watching a baseball game, NASCAR and country music go together. It just makes sense. Now, I’m not saying that every NASCAR driver has to be a country music superfan. Still, there is also a common thread that NASCAR drivers enjoy country music and often bump shoulders with artists who make music that makes you want to rev your engine and drive fast. A prime example is Ryan Blaney and his relationship with Whiskey Myers. The Texas southern rock band has supported Blaney over the years, flying out to the NASCAR Awards in 2023. Blaney has also used their tune “Early Morning Shakes” as his walkout song in the past, along with other country music hard hitters like Tyler Childers’ “Angel Band.” While Blaney might be a country superfan, you’d think that even non-country fans can name some of the genre’s most popular songs throughout the decades. In a recent video posted by Legacy Motor Club, the NASCAR Cup Series team pitted John Hunter Nemechek against Erik Jones to see who could name some of the most iconic anthems in country music. From “Family Tradition” to “Chattahoochee,” one would think both drivers would nail naming these songs. But that was far from the case. John Hunter Nemechek dropped the ball BIG time. Things were going downhill out of the gate when he said he thought Hank Williams Jr.’s “Family Tradition” was sung by George Strait. Things continued to get worse when he did not know “Chattahoochee.” “I mean, I’ve heard this song. I have no idea who it is or what it is…but.” Thankfully, he was able to identify Dolly Parton’s voice when they played “9 to 5,” but he couldn’t place a finger on the song’s name. On the other hand, Erik Jones was a master at this game, knowing the songs and artist names just from a few notes. To round out the songs they played for these NASCAR drivers, they played “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” by Luke Combs. John Hunter Nemechek stars in this song’s music video as a storm chaser speeding down the highway to a twister, and he didn’t even know the name of this tune. “It’s something Oklahoma. I’m in this music video and have no idea.” At this point in the video, I am just shaking my head… You need to see it for yourself. @legacymotorclub Hey Alexa, play me a Nashville playlist. @John Hunter Nemechek |@Exit Planning Institute | @TGRNA | @Dollar Tree ♬ original sound – LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Granted JHN is only 27, but you gotta know “Chattahoochee,” man. TikTok users and NASCAR fans were quick to make fun of Nemechek, pointing out his lack of country music knowledge. If they were showing these drivers a more niche side of country music, I’d cut him some slack, but these are classics that everyone should know. Nemechek needs to study up. Check out some of my favorite comments before you go. “JH is gonna lose some fans, and Jones just gained a few.” “Brb gonna go return my John Hunter shirt and buy an Erik Jones shirt.” “That’s why NASCAR sucks now.”  “How the hell do you grow up racing and not know an Alan Jackson tune on the first note?” “If you can’t pass this test, you shouldn’t be able to drive.” “This is actually sad.” “Lost all respect for JHN! Erik Jones got a new fan!” “I need an Erik Jones shirt now.” “JH don’t even know the title of the video he’s in.” “I hope Erik gets his time to shine again! Good driver and good guy!” “New found love for that Jones Boy!!!” Gas it up, John: The post NASCAR’s John Hunter Nemechek Might’ve Lost Some Fans After He Failed To Name Iconic Country Songs Like “Chattahoochee” & “Family Tradition” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
