Lara Trump told delegates and others in the audience at the Republican National Convention that she initially had prepared a “very different speech” than the one she delivered Tuesday night. The daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump and co-chairman of the Republican National Committee shared the shock of the assassination attempt on husband Eric Trump’s father late Saturday afternoon.  “Our family has faced our fair share of death threats,” she said.  “None of that prepares you as a daughter-in-law to watch in real time someone try to kill a person you love,” she said. “None of that prepares you as a mother to quickly reach for the remote and turn your young children away from the screen so that they’re not witness to something that scars the memory of their grandpa for the rest of their lives.” She was thankful for “prayers and well-wishes” in the 72 hours since.  “If Donald Trump has shown us anything, it’s that when it feels impossible to keep going, those are the times we must keep going.” The post Lara Trump Shares Personal Family Impact of Assassination Attempt on Father-in-Law appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Despite the graphic photographic evidence from different angles showing former President Trump was missing chunks of his right ear after being shot in the head during a failed assassination attempt over the weekend, MSNBC host Michael Steele wasted oxygen during the network’s coverage of Night Two of the Republican National Convention on Tuesday to spew debunked fringe conspiracy theories claiming Trump wasn’t actually hit by a bullet. “Where I am at this point, it's been three days, going on four…and yet, we have not received a medical report from the hospital nor have we received a medical report from the campaign or from the Trump organization about the extent of the damage to his ear,” he decried. Steele, who’s not a ballistics expert nor was he pro-gun rights in any meaningful way, bloviated about how “If he was shot by a high-caliber bullet, there should probably be very little ear there. And so we would like to know that.” The failed former Republican National Committee chairman seemed to be relying on flawed Hollywood movie logic to educate himself on how firearms and ballistics worked. We don’t know what type of ammo was being used. If he was using something with a soft tip, it’s possible that the thinness and flexibility of an ear wouldn’t give enough resistance for a bullet to flatten or cause cavitation. If he was using a full metal jacket, the bullet would likely just pass right through as if it were nothing there, even if other parts of the body were hit. Both would still damage the area it passed through.     He went on to falsely speculate that Trump may not have even been hit by a bullet: “Was it caused by a bullet as opposed to some reports from those on the scene, other reporters, saying that it was actually shards of glass from the teleprompter itself, not the bullet?” One of the liberal media’s favorite fact-checkers, Snopes even debunked the nonsense Steele was peddling. “The assertion that glass, not a bullet, caused the injury is undercut by the fact that photographs show no damage to the teleprompters allegedly hit to produce the broken glass, by a New York Times photograph capturing a bullet passing by Trump's ear,” they wrote. They cited Getty Images used by USA Today to show that both teleprompters were completely intact. Co-host Ari Melber followed up by suggesting that the need to know the medical condition of Trump’s ear somehow matched the need to know President Biden’s cognitive state: While there's a certain amount of time that could be understandable for any medical scenario, the calls around the current president's medical condition, the questions around his capacity, are also the same questions you have in a medical event like this. Certainly the public would want to know as much as possible about both incidents, and the Trump campaign has not been the most transparent. A few minutes later, Steele lashed out at his former party and suggested that they didn’t want the race for the White House to be about ideas, but rather “a narrative around victimhood and martyrdom.” “And that's what Republicans want it to be about, the age of the 81-year-old president, and the martyrdom of the man who wants to be a dictator. July 17, 2024 One Simple Change To Celebrate Our Spiritual UniquenessASHERITAH CIUCIU Lee en español "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness." Psalm 89:15-16 (NIV) Do you suffer from spiritual comparison syndrome? It might sound like this: "I wish I could pray like Susie ... She seems to have a direct line to heaven.""If only I could memorize the Bible like Jen ... She recites entire chapters at a time.""I'll never journal artistically in my Bible like Fatima ... She creates the most beautiful art.""At least I’m keeping up with my Scripture reading plan ... Rhonda is two weeks behind." When we compare our spiritual habits to others', we can feel inferior and discouraged or prideful and accomplished, but the result is the same: Our hearts become distant from God's presence. But when we look closely, we learn there is no one-size-fits-all devotional formula prescribed in the Bible. God created each of us with unique personalities, learning styles, strengths and experiences, and as our loving Creator, He welcomes us to bring our whole selves to Him in worship. We see this principle in Psalm 89:15-16, which reads: "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness." Throughout Israel's history, worship leaders wrote psalms and taught the people new songs of praise to celebrate the Lord during temple worship services. But their worship extended beyond the temple courts - the people were to "walk in the light of [His] presence ... all day long" (Psalm 89:15-16). Whether they were farmers singing as they plowed, weavers praying at the loom, or midwives praising God as new life was born, they were to actively learn and practice new ways of rejoicing in the Lord. What would our lives look like if we adopted this growth mindset in our relationship with Jesus? What if, instead of comparing our spiritual habits to others, we asked God's Spirit to teach us to praise Him the way He made us? For example, my stick-figure doodles in the margins of my Bible will never impress Pinterest, but that's OK. I feel closest to God while quietly watching a sunset and digging deep into theology. Imagine celebrating our sisters and brothers in Christ instead of suffering that dreaded comparison! We can thank the Bible enthusiast in our small group whose knowledge gives us something to ponder during the week. We can lean on that prayer warrior when we need someone to support us through a family crisis. We can appreciate those whose gifts are different than ours, and we can embrace the unique way God created us to worship Him, delighting in Him all day long. Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us so differently. Teach us how to delight in Your presence all day long. This is an absolute bombshell report and interview….and for those of you who know me, I don’t throw that word around very often because I like it to retain it’s meaning and impact. So I had Jovan Pulitzer back on my show today to discuss a full forensic audit of the Trump shooting. There’s no one better out there to conduct a forensic audit than Jovan, and those of you who know him know that to be true. The man leaves NO stone unturned and he thinks outside the box most people think in. So I was fascinated to hear what he had to say about everything….and absolutely blown away by some of his early conclusions. First up, while I had him I got his quick thoughts on Vice President JD Vance and while I won’t go into those in this article, I’ll say they very closely matched mine — and even my process for coming to the same conclusions.  So that was nice to see. Ok now to the shooting…. The first thing I wanted to get off the table quickly was whether or not it was possible this was staged in any way by Team Trump.  A “sympathy shooting”. Jovan quickly put that to bed with a firm no. You can listen to the interview to hear exactly why, but I agree 100%. So then we started talking about the “Balance of Possibilities” and applying Occam’s Razor to come to a theory of what likely happened here. Jovan says in situations like this he likes to find the “Second Right Answer” meaning (I think) that the answer they give you at first, and the narrative they try to sell you, likely isn’t the truth. So in this case, that means the 20 year old kid being the shooter, and being noticed by people in the crowd, and even confronted by police at one point, and now dead so case closed — that probably isn’t the right answer. So what is? Basically, this…. You need to listen to the interview in full (and maybe even twice — many people are telling me they are listening twice already, that’s how big this is becoming), but here’s the quick summary…. Jovan does not think the 20 year old kid was the Trump shooter.  He was the patsy.  Sure, he was allowed to carry the gun up there and get in position and ultimately got blown away.  But he wasn’t the Trump shooter. Also, Jovan does not think the Snipers on the rooftop behind Trump are the ones who took out the kid.  He says if you look at the pictures of the kid after he was dead, all of the evidence (teeth pointing forward, etc) all suggest the kid was shot from behind. So where does that leave things? Simply this: there were at least one and maybe two other shooters. Hello, grassy knoll!  We’ve got a new JFK. But it makes total sense. The kid was a very bad shot, nothing about his story lines up, and it’s highly unlikely that even at a (relatively) close distance for most good shooters, that he would make such a perfect shot on Trump. Remember, it was only by the grace of God that Trump turned his head those 1-2 inches at the exact last moment, otherwise it would have been a PERFECT kill shot. The trajectory of the bullet also tells a different story, but you have to watch the interview to have Jovan explain that in detail.  We went over it multiple times. In short, Jovan thinks this was the work of an expert gunman farther away. The kid was the cover story. The real shots came from the expert sniper farther out. And then either that sniper or someone else took out the kid, because of course we need a dead assailant to say “case closed!” And now the kicker….. Jovan also thinks that second shooter was likely done Malvo-style. Do you remember Malvo? The DC shooter? The guy who they couldn’t catch because he shot out of a small hole in the back of his car? Jovan thinks something exactly like that happened here. There would be no chance of it being caught on video surveillance or cell phone anywhere.  Not out in the open. Just a Cadillac DeVille perhaps, parked maybe 300 yards out with the perfect line of sight? Oh my! I told you this was a bombshell. Folks, if Jovan is right about even 50% of this, then you have a conspiracy the likes of which could tear this country apart! But the truth must come out, at all costs. We talked about a ton more, including Trump body doubles, what Trump should do next, whether Trump immediately goes into a bunker for his 2nd Term, Bitcoin, crypto, the US Dollar, and a lot more! This was truly one that blew me away, and in no part due to anything I did or said — this was all my guest and he absolutely blew the lid off this thing.
