Reps. Eli Crane of Arizona, Tom Emmer of Minnesota, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Jim Baird of Indiana were among them. “There is no greater loss than the loss of a child. I extend my deepest condolences to Representative Biggs and his entire family during this trying time,” Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, wrote. “Please know Joe and I are praying for your comfort and for Cosette’s husband and children,” wrote Debbie Lesko, who served with Biggs for years in Congress before she was elected to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. A U.S. citizen allegedly hijacked a small airplane in Belize at knifepoint and stabbed three people on board. Akinyela Sawa Taylor, a U.S. citizen and military veteran, hijacked a Tropic Air Belize plane with 13 other passengers on board, officials said. Taylor wanted to be taken out of the country and demanded more fuel for the plane, police said. The hijacker was fatally shot in the chest by a passenger who had a licensed firearm, police said. The aircraft, which was circling, almost ran out of fuel by the time it landed, police said. Three passengers, all from Belize, were injured with knife wounds. The flight had 14 passengers total on board, including two Americans, police said. Police were in contact with a passenger on the plane who was sending updates via text, officials said. The man was identified Thursday as Akinyela Sawa Taylor, a U.S. citizen and military veteran, Williams added. Taylor stabbed three people during the hijacking, including the pilot and a passenger who fatally shot him with a licensed firearm. The pilot eventually managed to land the airplane outside Belize City after being forced to circle the airspace between northern Belize and the capital. In a statement, Tropic Air Belize CEO Maximillian Greif called the pilot’s actions “nothing short of heroic.” “In the face of incomprehensible pressure, our pilot acted with extraordinary courage and calm, guiding the aircraft to a safe landing,” Greif said. The airplane, which had only 14 passengers on board, had been due to fly the short route from Corozal near the Mexican border to San Pedro, a popular tourist destination off the coast. By the time it made an emergency landing, the aircraft had begun to run dangerously low on fuel, Williams told reporters. WATCH:

One of the few celebrities who made good on a vow to flee the U.S. if President Donald Trump was re-elected last year was  former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell. The famously anti-Trump comedian announced last month that she had relocated to Ireland. This week, however, she provided an update about the process that might put her future as an Irish citizen in jeopardy. As Breitbart reported: Rosie O’Donnell said she never thought President Donald Trump would win another election, and lamented over her Irish citizenship application having not yet been approved. “I never thought he would win again,” O’Donnell told the New York Times of President Trump, adding that she told her therapist, “If he does [win], I’m going to move,” recalling that her therapist had replied, “Well, let’s make a real plan.” Now, O’Donnell may feel herself losing to Trump in another roundabout way, as her Irish citizenship has not yet been officially approved, the comedian told the newspaper, adding that she was worried about admitting that to a reporter, fearing it could impact the process. In March, O’Donnell revealed that she had fled the U.S. for Ireland in January, as Trump took office for his second term. Shortly after that, the president was seen in the Oval Office with Taoiseach of Ireland Micheál Martin, cracking jokes about his longtime rival. The American talk show host revealed last month that she and her 12-year-old child Clay moved to Dublin, Ireland, to escape the Trump presidency. Since her grandparents were Irish, she is eligible to get citizenship, but said her application has yet to be approved.
