Glen Powell-Led Country Music Movie Directed By Judd Apatow Set For Early 2027 Release

We’ll get to see Glen Powell on the big screen playing a struggling country music artist in early 2027. The country music genre will soon be returning to the silver screen, and everything we know so far points towards the forthcoming film being a comedy. Will the country music itself be the punch line? You can’t rule it out. But considering the proposed premise of the movie, it seems like the fictional country music star that the project will focus on will probably be the thing that brings the laughs. Judd Apatow is set to direct the still untitled film, and in case you didn’t know, he’s the mind behind some of the best comedy movies and TV shows since the turn of the century. His directorial credits include The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005) and Knocked Up (2007), and his producer credits include Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004 ), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), and Superbad (2007), just to name a few. You are probably noticing that a lot of those big hits are now close to two decades old. As far as Judd Apatow projects go, he’s somewhat stalled out a bit as of late. His last movie, The Bubble, was a flop… and his most recent successful TV show, Girls, aired its final episode in 2017. The esteemed director and producer is really looking for another hit, and that might come in the form of this team up with Glen Powell. When you look at Powell, there’s arguably not a star that’s bigger than him at the moment. Ever since he starred in Top Gun: Maverick back in 2022, he’s been on a rocket ship to the top. He’s since churned out box office hits like Twisters, Anyone But You, and most recently the revival of The Running Man. The 37-year-old also stars in the Hulu series Chad Powers, where he plays an undercover football player. Now, Powell will take on the role of a country music artist who’s “career is in free fall.” It’ll apparently be his next movie, and the film was rumored to start filming in the beginning of 2026. Powell and Apatow actually wrote script for the feature together, and there’s apparently a lot of faith in the idea. Universal Pictures reportedly fast-tracked the original, still untitled comedy that will star Glenn Powell as the struggling country music star, and be directed by Judd Apatow. And some additional cast announcements have come out in recent months. Cristin Milioti (The Penguin, How I Met Your Mother) and Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story) are also set to star in the movie, and comedian Stavros Halkias has also been attached to the film. He’s set to play the agent of Glen Powell’s character. A release date for the movie has also been made official: February 5, 2027. Stavros Halkias will star alongside Glen Powell in Judd Apatow’s new film. The comedy follows a country-western star whose career goes into free-fall. In theaters on February 5, 2027. pic.twitter.com/qan9rlpuhp — DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) March 19, 2026 That’s less than a year away, for those that aren’t great at quick math. Like I floated out earlier… it’ll be interesting to see how they approach the country music storyline. Could it play out a lot like Talladega Nights, where a feel good, comeback story is presented with the backdrop of country music being poked fun at the whole time? Or will Glenn Powell and the surrounding characters themselves be the ones that bring the laughs, and the setting just so happens to be the country music world? I’ve got a feeling that the genre itself will be joked about throughout the film, and I’d imagine that country music artists and fans will be able to take the joke. All in all, it’ll be just great to see country music at the center of what could be a blockbuster movie if Glenn Powell and other established actors and actresses are attached to it. At the very least, we already know that Powell has got some stage presence thanks to country music singer Carter Faith. Muscadine Bloodline Details Post Malone’s Incredible Kindness While They Were Touring Together: “The Sweetest, Most Thoughtful Guy”

One of the nicest guys in music. Say what you will about Post Malone’s venture into country music over the last few years, it’s become increasingly clear that he’s been a positive force in the genre. Unlike other artists who have crossed over into the genre for their own gain, Post has proven time and again that he’s in it for the music. Beyond calling upon some of the biggest stars, ranging from Hank Williams Jr. and Dolly Parton to Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen on F-1 Trillion, the “Congratulations” singer has also highlighted some of the most underrated names in the genre like Sierra Ferrell, Billy Strings, Wyatt Flores, Carter Faith and more, both on tour and on the album. What seems to be the most apparent, outside of the fact that he has a deep appreciation for the genre, is the fact that he’s one of the most genuine people in music. From providing free meals to first responders this past Thanksgiving to leaving a $1,000 tip after a Cowboys game last season, you don’t have to look far to find some stories of Post being a great guy to seemingly everyone — and the same can be said about his time with one of country music’s best duos, Muscadine Bloodline. If you recall, the duo, comprised of Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster, got a last-minute call from the rapper-turned-country singer back in the fall of 2024 to open up for him during his first Big A** Stadium Tour. Though they had to cancel multiple shows on their own headline tour, it turned out to be one of the best decisions they made, performing over 30 dates at stadiums around the country in direct support of Post. In a recent appearance on 90s country legend Tracy Lawrence’s podcast, TL’s Roadhouse the duo would recall the tough decision to cancel their tour, their time on the road with the “I Had Some Help” singer, the major boost they experienced and how blown away they were by Post’s kindness. Touching on how much of a family Post’s entire crew felt like, Muncaster would note how he took the time to meet he and Charlie’s wives and parents throughout the tour. Calling Post the “sweetest, most thoughtful guy,” he was also blown away by the fact that the 18x Grammy-nominee was able to slow himself down and be present with everyone in the room at any given time. “Their entire crew, they feel like family to us… They were that accommodating, and it starts from the top. Post is the sweetest, most thoughtful guy. It sounds like I’m just gassing him up. But he met my parents, he met our families, our wives and gave them just the same amount of time as he gave us on the tour. You would think a guy like that that’s so famous, that has so many people pulling him from every angle known to man, [wouldn’t be able to]. He’s able to actually slow down what’s going on in his brain and remember your name. That means a lot. It meant a lot to me and my family, my parents.” Stanton would also add that Post would frequently be seen showing appreciation to local security guards before shows as well. “I mean, you see him shaking hands with like local security before the show. He’s just that kind of guy.” Considering the horror stories you’ve heard from artists of Post’s level of fame, it’s pretty refreshing to hear stories like this from Muscadine, who are some of the most genuine guys in country music today. Again, you can feel however you want about Post’s venture into country music, but you can’t really knock his character. Tech expert shares the one message that actually convinces teens to reconsider their screentime

In a 2023 TEDx Talk at Laguna Blanca School, Dino Ambrosi made a startling revelation that perfectly underlines the big question of the smartphone era: What is my time worth? Ambrosi is the founder of Project Reboot and an expert at guiding teens and young adults to develop more empowering relationships with technology. Assuming the average person now lives to 90, after calculating the average time they spend sleeping, going to school, working, cooking, eating, doing chores, sleeping, and taking care of personal hygiene, today’s 18-year-olds have only 334 months of their adult lives to themselves. “How you spend this time will determine the quality of your life,” Ambrosi says. However, given today’s young people’s tech habits, most of those months will be spent staring at screens, leaving them with just 32 months to make their mark on the world. “Today, the average 18-year-old in the United States is on pace to spend 93% of their remaining free time looking at a screen,” Ambrosi says. An 18-year-old’s remaining time, in months. via TEDx The idea that an entire generation will spend most of their free time in front of screens is chilling. However, the message has a silver lining. Sharing this information with young people can immediately impact how they spend their time. How to get teens to reduce their screentime Ambrosi says his work with Project Reboot through on-campus initiatives, school assemblies, and parent workshops has taught him that teens are more concerned about time wasted on their phones than the damage it may do to their mental health. Knowing which topic resonates can open the door to an effective dialogue about a topic that’s hard for many young people to discuss. When teens realize they are giving away their entire lives for free, they are more likely to reconsider their relationship with smartphones. “I actually don’t get through to a lot of teens, as well as when I help them realize the value of their time and then highlight the fact that that time is being stolen from them,” Ambrosi told Upworthy. A Common Sense Media study shows that, as of 2021, the average 13- to 18-year-old spent 8 hours and 39 minutes a day on entertainment screen time. “It’s important to get them to view time as their most valuable resource that they can use to invest in themselves or enjoy life and tick the boxes on their bucket list. I really want them to see that it’s something they should take control of and prioritize, because we’re all under the impression that social media is free, but it’s actually not. We just pay for it with our time.” Dino Ambrosi speaks at a school assembly. via Dino Ambrosi (used with permission) Ambrosi believes that young people are less likely to give their time to tech companies for free when they understand the value of their time. “I find that kids really respond to that message because nobody wants to feel manipulated, right? And giving them that sense of being wronged, which I think they have been, by tech companies that are off operating on business models that are not aligned with their well-being, is important.” His approach to getting teens to rethink their smartphone use is similar to that of the Truth Initiative in that it educates young people about the nefarious tactics big tobacco companies used to lure and addict young people. In a way, big tech companies are doing the same thing by luring young people into their products, connecting them with friends and influencers, while providing a product that rearranges their brain chemistry. He also believes parents should be sympathetic and nonjudgmental when talking to young people about screen time because it’s a struggle that just about everyone faces and feels ashamed about. A little understanding will prevent them from shutting down the conversation altogether.   How to reduce my screentime Ambrosi has some suggestions to help people reduce their screentime. The ClearSpace app ClearSpace forces you to take a breathing delay before using a distracting app. It also asks you to set a time limit and allows you to set a number of visits to the site per day. If you eclipse the number of visits, it sends a text to a friend saying you exceeded your budget. This can help people hold one another accountable for their screen time goals. Don’t sleep with your phone Ambrosi says to charge your phone far away from your bedside stand when you sleep and use an alarm clock to wake up. If you do have an alarm clock on your phone, set up an automation so that as soon as you turn off the alarm, it opens up an app like Flora or Forest and starts an hour-long timer that incentivizes you to be off your phone for the first hour of the day. “In my experience, if you can stay off screens for the last hour and the first hour of the day, the other 22 hours get a lot easier because you get the quality rest and sleep that you need to wake up fully charged, and now you’re more capable of being intentional because you are at your best,” Ambrosi told Upworthy. A teen boy looks at his phone in bed. Photo credit: Canva Keep apps in one place Ambrosi says to keep all of your social apps and logins on one device. “I try to designate a specific use for each device as much as possible,” he told Upworthy. “I try to keep all my social media time and all my entertainment on my phone as opposed to my computer because I want my computer to be a tool for work.” Even though there are significant challenges ahead for young people as they try to navigate a screen-based world while keeping them at a healthy distance, Ambrosi is optimistic about the future. “I’m really optimistic because I have seen in the last year, in particular, that the receptiveness of student audiences has increased by almost an order of magnitude. Kids are waking up to the fact that this is the problem. They want to have this conversation,” he told Upworthy. “Some clubs are starting to address this problem at several schools right now; from the talks I’ve given this semester alone, kids want to be involved in this conversation. They’re creating phone-free spaces on college and high school campuses by their own accord. I just think we have a huge potential to leverage this moment to move things in the right direction.” For more information on Ambrosi’s programs, visit ProjectReboot.School. Mom took her teenage son to the ER, and the doctor seriously doubted their relationship

Sage Pasch’s unique family situation has attracted a lot of attention recently. The 20-something mother of 2 shared a 6-second TikTok video on September 29 that has been viewed over 48 million times because it shows how hard it can be for young moms to be taken seriously. In the video, the young-looking Pasch took her son Nick to the ER after he injured his leg at school. But when the family got to the hospital, the doctor couldn’t believe Pasch was his mother. “POV, we’re at the ER, and the doctor didn’t believe I was the parent,” she captioned the post. @coffee4lifesage He really thought i was lying ♬ After Last Night (Sped Up Version) – sped up nightcore Pasch and her fiancé , Luke Faircloth, adopted the teen in 2022 after his parents tragically died two years apart. “Nick was already spending so much time with us, so it made sense that we would continue raising him,” Pasch told Today.com. View this post on Instagram The couple has two sons together, including toddler Laith, and is now a family of five. Pasch says that people are often taken aback by her family when they are out in public. “Everybody gets a little confused because my fiancé and I are definitely younger to have a teenager,” she said. “It can be very frustrating.” It may be hard for the young parents to be taken seriously, but their story has made a lot of people in a similar situation feel seen. “Omg, I feel this. I took my son to the ER, and they asked for the guardian. Yes, hi, that’s me,” Brittany wrote in the comments. “Meee with my teenager at a parent-teacher conference. They think I’m her older sister and say we need to talk with your parents,” KatMonroy added. View this post on Instagram This article originally appeared last year.
