Mamdani Can’t Lift. Unsurprising.
The Left has decided that they are done with normal male masculinity.
Democrats are learning that soy is not a nutritional base for all things.
They’re learning this from Zohran Mamdani, who is likely the next mayor of New York City.
Democrats have been claiming that he’s the hot new thing in the Democratic Party, that he will lead the way to a bright new socialist future for America, starting with the most powerful financial capital on planet Earth.
But since we’re speaking about power, about a supposed socialist “strongman” in Zohran Mamdani, we should note that he’s going to be hard-pressed to be a strongman.
On Saturday, Mamdani showed up at the annual Men’s Day Open Streets event in Brooklyn, where a bunch of dudes were weight-lifting. Mamdani is 33, in the prime of life, and tried to bench a bar with two reputed 45-pound weights, a total of 135 pounds.

If you are going to do something like this and you’re a public figure, you’d better know your limitations.
There must have been some time in his life when Mamdani was in a gym.
Maybe not.
If you don’t know how much you can bench-press, a public event in front of a giant crowd of people in the middle of a mayoral race is not a great time to try it out.
Let’s be clear: a decent amount of weight for a man to bench in the prime of his life is his own body weight. Mamdani looks like he weighs more than 135 pounds.
In any case, 135 pounds is not a lot of weight to bench-press.
For the record, I’m not a bench-press enthusiast; I max out at around 200 pounds. But I can lift 135 pounds 15 times, because that’s not a lot of weight.
So Mamdani had a heavily-muscled guy helping him try to lift the bar. Twice. They barely made it.
When he kicked a stranger’s soccer ball at the event, Mamdani had to take off his designer boots.
For the vast majority of normal men, this would be very, very embarrassing.
But the Left has decided that they are done with normal male masculinity.
Done With It.
They have decided that the future of the Democratic Party is going to be an extraordinarily feminized party, not just because an outsized share of Democrats are now single women, but also because the kinds of men the Democratic Party wants to attract are not the kinds of men who lift heavy weights.
This is why you’ve seen, over the course of the last several years, a spate of articles talking about how lifting and going to the gym has become Republican-coded. There’s no reason it should be Republican-coded, except if you mean that testosterone is Republican-coded, and the idea that you should stay healthy and that you should lift is Republican-coded.

This leads to this question: Why would someone want this kind of weak and feminized America?
The media clearly do. There’s a piece from Axios titled, “Trump’s Identity Project.” They write:
The MAGA movement’s obsession with American identity and Western civilization is shaping federal policy far more than in Trump’s first term — fueling a reckoning over who belongs and what history should be remembered.
I have a question: Why shouldn’t we all be a little obsessed with American identity in Western civilization? I thought that’s what America is about: what it means to be an American. A huge part of that is being the apotheosis of Western civilization.
What are we supposed to represent? Non-Western civilizations, Third-World civilizations?
Axios continues, “In MAGA’s telling, America is the heir to ancient European civilizations, built on a Judeo-Christian foundation of white identity, meritocracy, traditional gender roles and the nuclear family.”
Notice how they slide in “white identity.” The idea of a Judeo-Christian foundation of white identity is a bizarre amalgam of two exclusive beliefs. Judeo-Christian identity is absolutely, by definition, not white identity. Look at the history of the Catholic Church. Look at the history of Protestantism. Look at the billions of Christians all over planet Earth. And you tell me, are they all white? I don’t think so. Judaism is a Middle Eastern religion. It began in Israel, and plenty of Jews have dark skin.
Monotheistic religion is, by its very nature, non-racially based.
American identity, Axios and the media are telling me, has nothing to do with Biblical values, meritocracy, traditional gender roles, and the nuclear family.
That would come as a shock to every single one of the American founders.
Meritocracy, for the Left and the media, is apparently all about racism. But you cannot simultaneously hold to a belief in a meritocracy and to a belief in white identitarianism. Those two things are mutually exclusive. If you are for a meritocracy, that means that the person who is most meritorious, regardless of color, is the person who should get the job, who should advance in society.
Traditional gender roles are a part of Judeo-Christian foundations, of Biblical belief, and a foundational part of science, because it happens to be the case that men and women are different.
This is why dudes are making fun of Zohran Mamdani for not being able to lift as much as a pregnant lady could. There is something bizarrely effeminate about Mamdani’s performance.
It’s strange and it’s weird — and Democrats love it.
Perhaps they’re into the sort of androgynous Mamdani candidacy.
All of this does speak to the Democratic Party and the move to the Left that is being fostered by this effete set of liberals at places like Axios or in the New York City primary.
The results of this are very clear. If you get rid of things like biblical values, traditional masculinity, and the nuclear family, what do you end up with?
It’s not something most Americans want.
