Ashley McBryde Announces Fifth Studio Album, ‘Wild’
Get ready.
Much like Eric Church, Ashley McBryde has remained one of the premier artists in the mainstream for the better part of a decade at this point. With a Grammy win under her belt, along with multiple ACM and CMA Award wins, the Arkansas native has remained one of the most consistent artists in the genre as of late.
After sporadic single releases since her 2023 album, The Devil I Know, back in December, McBryde would send fans into a frenzy after sharing a tearful video on Instagram of her listening to her upcoming album. She explained that even though she’s written and been through every stage of the process with these songs, it still felt brand new and had her in tears, and she said that it was like she had never heard the music or the artist:
“I just listened to ‘—‘ for the first time. It’s a rough mix, it’s not even mixed. And I had just listened to ‘Hand Me Downs,’ and I wrote the damn thing, me and Jessie Jo and Laura, I knew what was in that song. And then I listened to it, and I kept staring at the dash, like, why would you do that to me? I’ve been here for every note, every syllable, every breath of this record. And I’m listening to the mixes and it’s like I’ve never heard this record. It’s like I’ve never heard this artist.”
In the months following, she’d drop a re-recording of a fan-favorite, “What If We Don’t,” which first appeared on her independently released debut EP, Jalopies & Expensive Guitars, back in 2016. Additionally, she’d release a brand new rockin’ track, “Arkansas Mud.”
With so much excitement surrounding the new album, along with multiple new drops, it seemed like the only thing left to do was officially announce it. And it looks like today is the day.
Just announced, McBryde’s fifth studio album, Wild, is set to be released on Friday, May 8th.

In the Instagram caption announcing the record, McBryde would describe the process of making Wild, likening it to building a tree fort by taking it piece by piece. Additionally, she’d dive into the album’s name itself, noting that it encapsulates the fear, chaos and hard truths that she had to face in its creation.
“Sometimes going with your gut is the scariest thing you can do… and the most necessary.
This record felt like building a tree fort from some pieces we’d been needing to put to good use and some building materials I had to go scout out and look for. And piece by piece, trusting it would all hold together in the end. I’m so ready for y’all to hear it.
Wild is the name. That’s the spirit of the record. The fear, the chaos, the hard truths, and the little kid in me who always kept dreaming big.
Wild is out May 8. ‘Bottle Tells Me So’ is out at midnight, and the official music video drops tomorrow. I can’t wait for you to hear more of the story.”
The “What If We Don’t” singer would also note how she hopes Wild inspires fans to take chase dreams and take risks much like she did throughout her career, hoping it unlocks that “wild little kid” that is still inside all of us.
“When people hear this record, I hope it wakes up the part of them that I’m singing about in ‘Wild’-the part that still believes in those unrealized dreams and untaken risks. I believe that wild little kid is still alive inside of all of us, and that’s the version of everyone that I want to sing to.”
As for what to expect from Wild, it will contain 11 tracks, including “What If We Don’t,” “Arkansas Mud,” “Rattlesnake Preacher” and “Bottle Tells Me So,” which will be released tonight. Once again, John Osborne, who produced McBryde’s severely underrated 2022 concept album, Lindeville, is set to produce the record.
Unsurprisingly, Osborne is excited to work with the Grammy winner once again, noting how she is a “rare gem” in the music industry.
“Ashley McBryde is a rare gem. There are people out there with natural ability and there are people that dedicate every waking hour to honing their craft. Ashley is both. Never settling. Always reaching. The perfect combination of vulnerable and fearless.”
It’s always a good day when Ashley McBryde announces new music, and judging by the quality of the first three pre-released tracks on the album, it looks like we’re in for another gem come May 8th.
