Planet Fitness Canceled Woman's Membership After She Reported Man in Women's Locker Room, Called Cops on Her

LA Mayoral Race Shows Just How Far Left Dems Have Gone: Spencer Pratt Is Now a Fascist for Wanting to Clean Up City

For the most part, Republicans should rejoice when leftists hurl shopworn epithets such as "fascist" and "Nazi." After all, those absurd monikers show how little substance the progressive left has to offer these days. In a recent appearance on the "No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen" podcast, progressive Los Angeles...

Developing: Trans Student Accused of Recording 40+ Students Underneath Bathroom Stalls in a Loudon County HS

Loudoun County, Virginia, apparently refuses to learn from experience and would rather your kids be exposed to potential danger from juvenile sex offenders than to stop being woke. According to a report from a local television station, the suburban Washington, D.C., county is making national headlines again for the failures...

South Carolina Supreme Court Throws Out Alex Murdaugh’s Murder Convictions, Orders New Trial

South Carolina Supreme Court Throws Out Alex Murdaugh’s Murder Convictions, Orders New Trial

The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned Alex Murdaugh’s murder convictions and life sentence, ruling unanimously that the former Colleton County clerk of court improperly influenced jurors during his 2023 trial. Murdaugh was convicted in March 2023 of killing his wife, Maggie Murdaugh, and their son, Paul Murdaugh, at the family’s rural estate in 2021. The case riveted the country for months. Now the state’s highest court has ordered a new trial. The ruling does not exonerate him. Prosecutors say they plan to retry Murdaugh, and he is not walking free. He remains in prison while serving long financial-crime sentences, including a 40-year federal sentence after pleading guilty to stealing roughly $12 million from clients in a sprawling financial-fraud scheme. BREAKING: South Carolina Supreme Court overturns murder convictions and life sentence for Alex Murdaugh in deaths of wife and son. https://t.co/D2ohmqg4AW — The Associated Press (@AP) May 13, 2026 The 5-0 ruling zeroed in on the conduct of former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill, finding that her interactions with jurors crossed the line from routine courtroom management into the substance of the case itself. Associated Press reported on the central finding of the ruling: The murder convictions and life sentence were overturned because the state’s highest court found that former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill crossed a line with jurors. The ruling said Hill attacked Murdaugh’s credibility by suggesting they should not trust his testimony, and it described her conduct as placing her fingers on the scales of justice. The result is a new trial, not a finding that Murdaugh is innocent. The same account made clear why this ruling does not put Murdaugh back on the street. He pleaded guilty to stealing around $12 million from clients and is serving a 40-year federal sentence tied to his financial crimes. Prosecutors said they plan to retry him on the murder charges, and they argued the evidence against him remains overwhelming. In practical terms, one of the most watched true-crime cases in America is now headed toward another major courtroom fight, but Murdaugh stays behind bars while that fight takes shape. The key news is the collapse of the murder verdict, not a release order. The court did not stop at the clerk’s misconduct. A second unanimous finding faulted the original trial judge for letting prosecutors spend too much time on Murdaugh’s financial crimes, evidence the justices said was not closely tied to the state’s motive theory and created a serious danger of unfair prejudice. CBS News detailed the ruling and the state’s response: The court ruled 5-0 for Murdaugh’s appeal and ordered a new trial. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said his office respectfully disagreed with the decision but would aggressively seek to retry Murdaugh for the murders of Maggie and Paul as soon as possible. Wilson also stressed that the decision does not mean Murdaugh will be released, because he remains in prison for financial crimes. The ruling also raised a separate concern about how the original trial was handled. Murdaugh’s defense argued that Becky Hill improperly influenced jurors, and the court found that her conduct attacked both his credibility and his defense. Beyond that, the justices unanimously held that the trial court allowed prosecutors to go too long and too deep into aspects of Murdaugh’s financial crimes that were not probative of the state’s motive theory. The court said that created a serious danger of unfair prejudice, an issue that will matter if prosecutors try the murder case again. The next trial, if it proceeds, will have to be built under those limits. Local reporting from WJCL added important detail about how the court analyzed Hill’s comments: The local breakdown added detail about why the justices treated Hill’s conduct as more than harmless courthouse chatter. Her remarks allegedly went beyond routine trial logistics and into the substance of the case. Jurors described comments connected to Murdaugh’s testimony, including remarks that it was an important or epic day and that they should watch his body language when he testified. That mattered because Hill was not a random spectator. She was an officer of the court with access to and authority around the jury. Once the comments were treated as improper external influence, the burden shifted to the state to show there was no reasonable possibility that the verdict had been affected. The court concluded the state did not meet that burden, which is why the verdict could not stand even in a case where prosecutors still insist the evidence supports a conviction. BREAKING: The South Carolina Supreme Court has overturned the murder conviction of Alex Murdaugh. He was previously convicted of murdering his wife and younger son. https://t.co/GZI4aSPh6Zpic.twitter.com/oAUZkdQjy2 — ABC News (@ABC) May 13, 2026 Attorney General Wilson’s statement that he will “aggressively” retry the case signals this is far from over. The state clearly believes its evidence is strong enough for a second conviction. Murdaugh’s defense team, meanwhile, has secured what they fought years to obtain: a ruling that the first trial was fundamentally unfair. The bottom line is straightforward. A court clerk who could not keep her opinions to herself during a murder trial handed the defense exactly the grounds it needed to undo the verdict. No matter how strong the evidence, no matter how repulsive the defendant’s broader conduct, the right to a fair trial before an impartial jury is not optional. When a court official puts her finger on the scale, the conviction falls. That principle held today in South Carolina, and it will hold when prosecutors take Murdaugh back to trial.

Nebraska Democrats Nominate a Senate Candidate Who Plans to Drop Out

Nebraska Democrats Nominate a Senate Candidate Who Plans to Drop Out

Nebraska Democrats nominated a U.S. Senate candidate whose campaign pitch was that she would not actually run the general-election race to the end. Cindy Burbank, a retired pharmacy technician, won the Nebraska Democratic primary Tuesday night by a staggering margin, collecting 100,940 votes to opponent William Forbes’ 12,185. Every single precinct in the state has reported. And now, Burbank has pledged to do exactly what she said she would do all along: drop out of the general election. The goal was never to beat Republican Senator Pete Ricketts herself. It was to keep Forbes off the November ballot and clear a one-on-one lane for independent Dan Osborn, the candidate the Nebraska Democratic Party actually wants to win. AND THE AP CALLS IT. CINDY BURBANK HAS WON THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY FOR NEBRASKA SENATE. SHE HAS PLEDGED TO DROP OUT OF THE RACE SO THAT PETE RICKETTS WILL BE FACED ALONE AGAINST INDEPENDENT DAN OSBORN. pic.twitter.com/tPIZALHNv7 — Joe (@electionsjoe) May 13, 2026 The strategy is unusual, but the math behind it is not complicated. Osborn came within seven points of defeating Senator Deb Fischer in 2024 as an independent. Democrats believe that without a Democratic name on the ballot splitting anti-Ricketts votes, Osborn has a real shot at flipping the seat. The state party endorsed Burbank for the primary and Osborn for the general election, making the arrangement about as explicit as party politics gets. That is where Forbes comes in. Burbank and the Nebraska Democratic Party accused Forbes of being a plant designed to stay on the general-election ballot and siphon votes away from Osborn, effectively protecting Ricketts. Forbes denied the allegation, and the Ricketts campaign also denied any involvement. State records showed Forbes was a registered Democrat, though reporting from The Guardian noted he had voted for President Trump and opposed abortion access. Democrats saw independent Dan Osborn as their best hope to peel Nebraska’s U.S. Senate seat away from Republicans, even though Osborn was not running in the Democratic primary. Burbank, a retired pharmacy technician, faced William Forbes, a pastor who had voted for Trump and opposed abortion access. Burbank had said she would drop out if she won the primary to clear the way for a head-to-head matchup between Osborn and Ricketts. The same reporting described the allegation driving the race: Forbes faced accusations of being a Ricketts plant designed to peel votes away from Osborn if he reached the general election. Burbank’s campaign argued Osborn deserved a fair shot, while the Ricketts campaign denied the claims. The state Democratic Party endorsed Burbank for the primary and Osborn for the general election, making clear that the party’s preferred November candidate was not the Democrat running in its own primary. The unofficial results from the Nebraska Secretary of State tell the full story of a low-turnout primary that still delivered a decisive outcome. With 1,322 of 1,322 precincts fully reported, Cindy Burbank received 100,940 votes in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary, while William J. Forbes received 12,185 votes. That made Burbank’s margin enormous in a contest that produced 113,125 Democratic votes for U.S. Senate. The official page also showed no partially reported precincts remaining in the statewide contest. On the Republican side, incumbent Pete Ricketts won his primary with 155,472 votes out of 190,060 Republican votes cast for U.S. Senate. Statewide turnout was 26.99 percent, with 339,302 ballots cast out of 1,257,063 registered voters. The results remain unofficial, but they show the two key numbers behind the November setup: Burbank won the Democratic line overwhelmingly, and Ricketts emerged from his own primary with a much larger raw vote total. The primary was not without drama before Election Day. Nebraska’s Republican secretary of state removed Burbank from the ballot before the state Supreme Court ordered her restored. AP framed the entire contest as one of the year’s strangest matchups, with both Democratic candidates accusing the other of being a fake: The Nebraska Democratic Senate primary was framed as one of the year’s strangest contests, with two Democratic contenders accusing each other of being fake candidates with no intention of running the general election to win. Republican Senator Pete Ricketts was seeking a full term after his 2023 appointment and 2024 special-election victory, while independent Dan Osborn was already expected to be a major general-election figure after coming within seven points of defeating Senator Deb Fischer in 2024. The Nebraska Democratic Party supported Burbank in the primary and Osborn in the general election, after originally planning not to field a Democratic candidate so support could coalesce behind Osborn. Forbes denied the allegations that he entered the primary to siphon votes from Osborn and help Ricketts, and state records showed Forbes was a registered Democrat. Burbank’s own ballot status also became part of the fight: Nebraska’s Republican secretary of state had removed her from the ballot before the Nebraska Supreme Court ordered her restored. That history explains why a lopsided primary in a red state became a national election-strategy story. Cindy Burbank wins the Democratic Senate primary in Nebraska, defeating the alleged Republican “plant” in the race. Burbank has said she’ll drop out of the general election to give independent Dan Osborn a clear shot at Republican Sen Pete Ricketts in #NESen. pic.twitter.com/YirzVcVgOj — Kellen Browning (@Kellen_Browning) May 13, 2026 Ricketts enters the general election with the straightforward advantage of incumbency and a solid 155,000-vote primary showing. The question now is whether the Democratic lane-clearing gambit actually works, or whether Osborn’s independent brand carries the same energy it did in 2024 against a different Republican. But step back and consider what just happened. The Nebraska Democratic Party chose not to run a conventional general-election campaign under its own banner. Instead, the party apparatus rallied behind a nominee whose role was to win the primary and then get out of Osborn’s way. That is not a sign of a party playing from strength. It is an admission that the Democratic brand in Nebraska is so weak that the best thing the party can do for its preferred candidate is get out of the way.

Sen. Rand Paul’s Son Accused Of Making Antisemitic Remarks Directed At Republican Congressman During Inebriated Outburst

William Paul, the adult son of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), faces accusations of hurling ‘antisemitic insults’ at Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) during a drunken tirade at a D.C. bar on Tuesday night. “His son told Lawler that if Rep Thomas Massie loses, it’s going to be because of ‘your people,'” NOTUS reporter Reese Gorman said. Rand Paul’s son drunkenly accosted and hurled anti-Semitic insults at Rep. Mike Lawler at a Capitol Hill bar on Tuesday night. His son told Lawler that if Rep Thomas Massie loses, it’s going to be because of “your people.” “My people?” Lawler asked Paul. “Yeah, you Jews,” Paul responded. “Do you think I’m Jewish?” Lawler asked. “I’m not.” “Oh wow, I’m so sorry for calling you a Jew,” Paul said. He then said that Jews were “anti-American” and how Lawler and his “Jewish supporters” served Israel more than America. Gorman said the exchange happened “in full view of this NOTUS reporter.” “William Paul was seated a couple of seats down from Lawler at the restaurant bar, and interrupted a conversation between NOTUS and Lawler,” NOTUS reports. Rand Paul's son erupts in drunken tirade against 'gays and the Jews' https://t.co/6TFinDZmrA pic.twitter.com/SHji1IeDBm — New York Post (@nypost) May 13, 2026 NOTUS shared further: Lawler repeatedly pushed back and engaged with Paul, defending his support of Israel, and told Paul he was being antisemitic. “Paul Singer serves Israeli interests, not American interests,” Paul said, referring to the GOP megadonor who is helping bankroll an anti-Massie super PAC. Singer is Jewish. Restore Freedom PAC, a pro-Massie super PAC, has run an ad titled “LGBTQ Mafia” that had a picture of Singer with a rainbow Star of David behind him. Massie, a close ally of Sen. Paul in Kentucky’s delegation, is in a tight race against a Trump-backed primary challenger. William Paul did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Sen. Paul’s office did not respond to requests for comment. Massie and a representative for Singer did not respond to requests for comment. Lawler declined to give an official comment on the interaction. At the restaurant Tuesday, William Paul went on to tell Lawler he “needs to watch more Tucker Carlson.” He also said that Massie and his father, Sen. Paul, were the only lawmakers who care about the U.S. “Well, you just seem to hate Jews, so there’s no point arguing anymore,” the New York Republican reportedly told Paul. “Don’t put words in my mouth, Mike Lawler, I never said that,” Paul reportedly responded. Lawler recounted the alleged incident in a phone conversation. The New York Post shared his comments: “So Rand Paul’s f—ing son is sitting next to us at the at the bar … And he just like chimes in on our conversation, f—ing drunk and belligerent, and then starts going off about, you know, if [Rep. Thomas] Massie [R-Ky.] loses [his primary], it’s because of my people,” Lawler recalled. “I’m like, ‘What people?’ He goes, ‘Jews,’ and I’m like, ‘Do you think I’m Jewish? … I’m Irish-Italian Catholic, buddy,’” the Hudson Valley lawmaker went on. “He’s like, ‘Wait, you’re not Jewish?’” Lawler recalled the younger Paul asking, to which the lawmaker said he replied: “And even if I was, what’s the problem?” “And then he got into the Middle East, and he was talking about, like, us trying to steal Iran’s land for the Jews and steal the West Bank, and I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’” At that point, William Paul said: “This war, it’s all about the gays and the Jews, and I hate them both, and I don’t care if they die.” Reps for Paul’s Senate office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
