As every mom knows, our greatest fear is something bad happening to our kids. So, like much of the country, I was shocked when I learned that Jay Jones, a Democrat running to be the next Attorney General of my home state of Virginia, expressed his desire to see a political opponent’s children killed because of their father’s views on gun control. But reading those texts — in which Jones imagines his opponent being shot twice while his wife cradled her dying child — I had another thought. He was talking about me. I am a Republican. I am a mother and a wife. And Jay Jones and I probably do not agree on Second Amendment issues. Jones, who could very possibly become the top law enforcement official of my state, is on the record saying he wants people like me to suffer unimaginable tragedy so that I will change my views and stop “breeding little fascists.” “Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy,” Jones wrote. This was not a mistake. It wasn’t an accident. He meant those words, and he believes them in his heart still today, regardless of weak apologies. How do I know this to be true? He’s still running. And why not? Just look at all the Democrats rallying around him and continuing to support his campaign, including gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger. “I stand with [Jay Jones]. Period. End of Statement,” said Virginia House of Delegates candidate Melody Cartwright (who has “Human Rights Defender” in her bio on X). The Virginia Beach Democratic Committee “reaffirmed its full support for Jay Jones for Attorney General” and “[called] on all Virginians to line up behind Jay Jones.” Again, Jay Jones believes that the way to enact his political agenda is for moms to hold our dying children in our own arms. Jones’s Republican opponent, the sitting Attorney General of Virginia, Jason Miyares, launched an ad hitting the nail on the head: “Do you trust Jay Jones to protect your children?” The answer is simple: of course not. But the rot runs deeper. Jay Jones is not alone. As I am unfortunately learning, it appears that Democrats on the whole believe that killing political opponents is an acceptable option to enact their political agenda. In fact, a sobering poll taken in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination found that over 40% of liberals believe violence can be justified to achieve political goals. Here’s the bottom line: any Democrat who refuses to call for Jones to step down is doing more than endorsing his candidacy. They’re endorsing mothers holding our dying children to make us change our minds on gun control. They’re endorsing the continued and seriously deranged normalization of political violence and the dehumanization of those who disagree with them on politics. Mothers of Virginia, beware: this man could be our next Attorney General. Mothers of America, beware: this is the Democratic Party. This past May, I graduated from UCLA Law — not as your typical student, but as a father of four who proudly wore T-shirts with American and Israeli flags every day since October 7, 2023, to show my appreciation for America and my support of Zionism. After enduring firsthand antisemitism and religious discrimination, I sued. While sitting for the Bar this past July, I settled with UCLA for a permanent injunction and $6.13 million (In honor of the 613 commandments in the Torah). That same day, the Justice Department found UCLA in violation of federal civil rights laws. As Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon noted, “UCLA failed to take timely and appropriate action in response to credible claims of harm and hostility on its campus.” I’m grateful for the federal government’s swift investigation and actions, including freezing $584 million in grants and proposing a $1.2 billion fine, which have begun to hold UCLA accountable. This past week a federal judge’s preliminary injunction temporarily restored most of those NIH and NSF grants amid an ongoing lawsuit, this short-term reprieve doesn’t absolve the university’s civil rights violations or halt the push for lasting penalties. Yet, lawsuits from UC unions and statements from California officials, alongside criticism from some Jewish groups calling these efforts ‘misguided and punitive,’ sow cynicism about the real threats Jewish students face. Article after article and statement upon statement claim efforts to hold UCLA accountable have nefarious motivations and won’t protect Jewish students. The irony is that not holding UCLA accountable for persistent failure to address antisemitism is what truly endangers Jewish students. To those who stayed silent when Jews were excluded from campus areas and mobs called for “Intifada”: kindly sit this one out. We can debate the details and methods for addressing UCLA’s abhorrent antisemitism, but one thing is clear: UCLA’s sidestepping shouldn’t fool anyone. They’re ignoring antisemitism, rather than confronting it head-on. Even more troubling: Why are some Jewish organizations providing cover for UCLA? Ask Jewish student leaders on campus, and they’ll tell you only a handful of legacy groups have been helpful. It’s bad enough that some did nothing to empower students; now, they’re undermining our efforts. Credit: Yitzy Frankel From personal experience, I can spotlight one: the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC). My friend Shabbos Kestenbaum and I met with SWC leaders, including the CEO, but nothing came of it. Now, they’ve “proudly” signed a letter just last month with the Jewish Public Affairs Committee (JPAC) opposing the federal funding freeze and penalty, claiming it “does not make Jewish students safer” (Blind to the reality that perhaps it’s unchecked antisemitism that is making campus unsafe for Jewish students). When I contacted them about how their support spreads lies and misinformation — directly harming Jewish students and covering up antisemitism — I got no response. SWC’s credibility is now being weaponized to shield antisemites, offering silent consent to UCLA’s inaction instead of demanding real change. The JPAC statement SWC endorses claims “meaningful progress is underway.” Here’s the reality: Governor Newsom’s “Golden State Plan to Combat Antisemitism“: This April 2024 pamphlet mentions “Islamophobia,” “Arab Americans,” “anti-Arab,” “anti-Muslim,” and “Muslim” a combined 24 times across 16 pages—undermining the supposed focus on antisemitism. It’s mostly fluff about councils making recommendations and commissions assessing data, and it’s proven ineffective at UCLA. A Letter from the UC President: It supposedly bans encampments, masking to conceal identity, and blocking campus access, while enforcing time, place, and manner restrictions. But encampments were already illegal, students are never asked to unmask, and rules are openly flouted, with little to no real enforcement. Praise for Chancellor Frenk: He “established a dedicated antisemitism initiative, suspended student groups fostering hostility toward Jews, and delivered forceful remarks.” In truth, Frenk offers empty words. His only action against SJP followed their protest at a Jewish regent’s literal doorstep, harassing him and his family. In June 2024, UCLA’s Administrative Vice Chancellor, Michael Beck, needed security guards to fend off a masked mob — protection not extended to students. That suspension? Meaningless. Less than two weeks later, SJP held another rally in the same spot as the encampment, complete with drums, megaphones, masks, and a poster glorifying Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. They marched through an academic building, pulled a fire alarm to evacuate classes, blocked streets, and assaulted people — including elbowing me and stealing my USA/Israel flag from a friend nearby — in front of UCLA security. This was one of many violations, including a grotesque 2024 rally on the anniversary of October 7. After these rallies, their gear is wheeled to the Muslim Student Association as security turns a blind eye and chases off journalists like Cam Higby. UCLA’s “response”? Sending Student Affairs Monitors to gently “cajole” the mob into compliance. I know UCLA’s apathy firsthand: UCLA refused to help press charges against encampment participants or discipline any students or faculty. As Andy Ngo reported, a law student, Taylor “Sanyika” Maloney, remains an enrolled student despite assaulting pro-Israel protesters on camera — including harassing me. She celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk, openly supported Hamas, and advocated for killing cops. Because UCLA stonewalled law enforcement, the LA City Attorney dropped charges against her and dozens more. If UCLA truly cared, it would adopt recommendations from the Jewish Faculty Resilience Group (JFRG) as a baseline. Instead, this grassroots powerhouse, which has been at the forefront of fighting antisemitism at UCLA, has been ignored and retaliated against. Donors to large Jewish organizations: Don’t ask them what they’re doing for students — ask students what they’ve done for us. Support groups that students and faculty vouch for. UCLA’s environment silences pro-Israel voices. In May 2024, they blocked a pro-Israel speaker, as the Daily Wire reported. The Daily Wire knows UCLA’s tactics: In 2017, they dropped an unconstitutional “security fee” for Ben Shapiro’s event. In 2024, I had the honor of introducing Ben Shapiro to a packed crowd (with hundreds outside), despite UCLA’s obstacles. As a father of four children under eight — equal parts adorable and mischievous — I know misbehavior doesn’t change without consequences. Federal cuts and penalties are forcing change; they must continue despite lawsuits and smears. Research grants matter, but they should go to institutions that uphold civil rights, not violate them. New York officially has a heavyweight political bout on its hands in 2026. A new survey of New York voters shows Kathy Hochul, the incumbent Democrat governor, with just a small single-digit lead over Republican congresswoman Elise Stefanik, and also that the race could get even tighter if New York City voters elect socialist Zohran Mamdani next month. Hochul leads Stefanik 48% to 43%, according to the GrayHouse poll conducted late last month just after the governor endorsed Mamdani. Hochul finds herself in a “deeply vulnerable position,” the polling memo reviewed by The Daily Wire states, especially given underlying data points that indicate the race will only tighten. It shows, for example, that a win by Mamdani in the mayor’s race makes 47% of independent voters less willing to vote for a Democrat for governor, with only 9% saying it would make them more likely to vote Democrat. When voters were asked whether they wanted Hochul reelected or whether it was time for someone else, 59% of New York voters said it was time for anyone but Hochul. And in what the pollster calls an “informed ballot,” in which voters are polled after hearing political narratives about the candidates, including that Hochul had just endorsed Mamdani, her 5-point lead completely evaporates: in that sample, Stefanik actually takes a small half-point lead, 46.4% to 45.9%. Stefanik says the poll results should be expected, given the state of New York under single-party Democrat rule. “Kathy Hochul, the worst Governor in America, is a deeply embattled and historically unpopular failed Governor who is struggling to even gain support from her own party,” Stefanik said. “Kathy Hochul’s single party Democrat rule affordability crisis, coupled with the crime crisis from failed bail reform, combined with the sanctuary state policies, putting criminals and illegals first and New Yorkers last, is a political disaster for Hochul.” Stefanik, an Albany native who has represented upstate New York in Congress for the past decade, has risen to political stardom in recent years as a member of House leadership and close political ally of President Donald Trump. The president actually nominated her to be his ambassador to the United Nations, but she stepped down during the confirmation process to save the Republican majority, winning her allies throughout the party. She’s yet to officially launch her gubernatorial bid, but it’s considered to be a question of when she does so, not if. Hochul, who took office after her disgraced Democrat colleague Andrew Cuomo resigned over sexual harassment accusations, vastly underperformed expectations in her only election at the top of the ticket. In 2022, with polls predicting she’d win by double-digits over Republican Lee Zeldin, Hochul only won by a few percentage points. And with the state reeling during her first full term as governor, Stefanik’s team views her as vulnerable. “This poll is devastating for the Worst Governor in America,” said Alex deGrasse, a longtime Stefanik operative. “Voters want change and a Governor who will fight for them, which is why they will resoundingly reject Kathy Hochul for new leadership in Elise Stefanik if she decides to run for Governor. What is truly remarkable about this poll is that this is before Elise has even formally announced her campaign. There is a reason why Kathy is running scared.” Hochul finds herself in a precarious position, with Democrat voters in the state split between more traditional candidates and socialists like Mamdani and congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  Asked whether they “align” more with “traditional Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Hakeem Jeffries” or “Democratic Socialists like AOC, Bernie Sanders, and Zohran Mamdani,” Democrat voters were perfectly split, 40% to 40%. Hochul’s one-time running mate Andrew Cuomo is running against Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race as an independent. Though Hochul endorsed Mamdani, she’s so politically unpopular that he was unwilling to even return the favor. Polling in recent months has shown Stefanik down double-digits, including one poll showing Hochul with a lead of 25 points, according to RealClearPolitics. The GrayHouse poll was conducted from September 20 to September 26, and had a 2.6% margin of error.

Amine Elmo moved his entire family from Canada to Florida a year ago. Although they are adjusting to the change, his son is missing his best friend. The two families coordinated and flew his best friend to Florida for a reunion. They did not tell Amine’s son. When the family went to the airport, Amine’s son was oblivious, almost walking past his friend without even noticing him. When his best friend, also eager for the reunion, tapped him on the shoulder. The boys weren’t ready to part, but they knew they had no choice. A final hug as they part ways. And then one more final hug because it’s just too soon. Four days were not enough time. When Bella Baci’s dad built the pergola in their backyard, he must have felt so proud of himself. At least, he should have! Creating something like that with your own two hands is no easy feat and deserves to be celebrated. You can imagine, then, how devastating it was to learn that a fire had broken out in the backyard. It threatened to burn down the pergola… but a nearby neighbor managed to swoop in and help put the fire out! Parts of the pergola did get damaged. But this brave neighbor was able to intervene at the perfect time, leaving most of the pergola standing. Needless to say, Bella’s family are endlessly grateful for his help.
