Popular Fast Food Restaurant Will Close Hundreds Of Locations

Wendy’s decline continues. The once-popular fast-food restaurant Wendy’s has announced it will close hundreds of locations in the coming months. In total, Wendy’s is expected to close over 350 locations that have experienced sales declines over the last couple of years. Fox Business provided the full scoop on why Wendy’s is closing its doors at many locations: Fast-food giant Wendy’s will close hundreds of its U.S. restaurants as it looks to focus on value and boost lagging sales in the domestic market. In the October through December quarter, the fast-food giant reported same-store sales, or sales at restaurants open for at least one year, declined 11.3% in the U.S. While Wendy’s previously announced late last year its intent to close underperforming restaurants, interim CEO Ken Cook provided more details on Friday during the company’s call with investors. Cook said that the company shuttered 28 locations in the fourth quarter of 2025 and expects to close 5% to 6% of its 5,959 restaurants, or 298 to 358 locations, in the first half of this year. The planned closures occur as the fast-food giant continues its turnaround plan dubbed Project Fresh. Announced in October 2025, Wendy’s said the strategy is “designed to revitalize the brand, reignite growth, [and] accelerate profitability.” Part of its plan to win back customers is shifting its focus to value, as many core customers still feel strained by higher living costs. “Learning from 2025 around value, we swung the pendulum too far towards limited-time price promotions instead of everyday value,” Cook said during the call. Maybe Wendy’s should go back to when they had this: Yellow Wendy’s was also Sunroom era Wendy’s. USA Today reported Pizza Hut is also closing hundreds of locations: Pizza Hut is set to close 250 “underperforming” locations in the United States in the first half of 2026 as its parent company, Yum! Brands Inc. continues a strategic review of the struggling brand. During a Feb. 4 Yum! Brands earnings call, Chief Financial Officer Ranjith Roy said that the move was part of “Hut Forward,” a strategy which includes “vibrant marketing, modernization of technology, and franchise agreements.” “While we don’t share specific details of franchise agreements, we are pleased to be working in partnership with our franchisees on increased efforts to deliver near-term sales while advancing long-term strategy,” Yum! Brands told Restaurant Business Online in an emailed statement.

WATCH HERE: Wind Turbine In Texas Catches Fire

A wind turbine has made the news again, and like most times, not for a good reason. A wind turbine in Texas caught fire after reportedly being struck by lightning. Firefighters who responded to the scene captured a video of the burning turbine, which showed it ablaze and releasing heavy black smoke into the air. Here’s the video: TURBINE TORCHED: A wind turbine in Texas caught fire after a suspected lightning strike, sending thick black smoke soaring into the sky. Video shows the turbine engulfed in flames, with one of its rotors breaking off and continuing to burn on the ground below. No injuries were… pic.twitter.com/z6WYF05kCJ — Fox News (@FoxNews) February 16, 2026 Yahoo News reported more details on the wind turbine catching fire: A Texas wind turbine that reportedly caught fire due to a lightning strike sent columns of black smoke rising high into the sky on Saturday, February 14. Footage captured by the Breckenridge Fire Department shows the turbine in Stephens County alight, with a rotor that had broken off continuing to burn on the ground below. “The Breckenridge Fire Department is currently on scene of a windmill fire at farm-to-market 717, just south of farm-to-market 207. The fire is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike,” the fire department said. The turbine operated as part of the wind farm ‘La Casa Wind’, which has dozens of turbines in the area. Here’s President Trump’s take on wind turbines: “POSSIBLY THE GREATEST HOAX IN HISTORY – THE GREEN NEW SCAM” “The catastrophic energy collapse which befell every European nation” “Every time it (Wind-turbine) goes round, you lose $1000” People have been brainwashed into hating Donald Trump, because of this they accept… pic.twitter.com/iNkUgNamde — Concerned Citizen (@BGatesIsaPyscho) January 21, 2026 NPR reported the Trump administration has halted dozens of wind turbine projects that had a price tag of billions of dollars: Late last month, the Trump administration halted construction on billions of dollars worth of offshore wind projects after the Defense Department allegedly raised new national security concerns about the facilities. But no one outside the federal government seems to know what sort of threats the administration has found. So far, the government has been unwilling to release that information even to the companies building the projects. The Interior Department sent stop-work orders on December 22 to the developers of five wind projects off the East Coast. The orders were based on classified reports recently completed by the Defense Department. The Interior Department said pausing construction would give federal agencies time to work with project developers to try to mitigate potential risks. Companies building infrastructure projects routinely work with the federal government to deal with issues that regulators raise, including around national security. Without information about newly-discovered threats, companies building the wind projects have said in court filings that they can’t address the government’s concerns. They said the lack of transparency suggests the administration’s goal is to block wind projects, rather than to deal with legitimate national security issues.

“Godfather” Actor Robert Duvall Dead At 95

Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall has died. The actor who starred in the Godfather and “Apocalypse Now” has died at the age of 95. His wife, Luciana, announced Duvall’s death in a post online. Fox News broke the story on Duvall’s death: Robert Duvall died Sunday, according to his wife Luciana. He was 95. Circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately made available. “Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time,” his wife shared online. “Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.” “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. ” She continued, “In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.” Tributes came pouring in: Robert Duvall was an actor’s actor. Different shades of brilliant in everything he did but for me the standout was The Apostle, which he wrote, directed & starred in. Mesmerizing performance; should’ve won Best Actor #Oscar that went instead to Jack for As Good As It Gets. RIP pic.twitter.com/jH234YNRfS — Robert Lusetich (@RobertLusetich) February 16, 2026 Robert Duvall, a titan in American cinema who anchored some of the greatest films of the 20th century, has died at the age of 95. pic.twitter.com/bMse4ZiOkk — CONSEQUENCE (@consequence) February 16, 2026 USA Today reported on Duvall’s legacy in the film industry: During a seven-decade stage, TV and screen acting career, Duvall disappeared into a stunning range of strong-willed characters, leading to seven Oscar nominations and a best actor win for his role as a down-and-out country singer in 1983’s “Tender Mercies.” He played a wide array of unforgettable men, from Mafia lawyer Tom Hagen in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather” to the surf and napalm-loving Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore in Coppola’s Vietnam War saga “Apocalypse Now,” in which Duvall utter the immortal line, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.” His domineering Air Force patriarch Bull Meechum in “The Great Santini” burst onto movie screens in 1979, earning another Oscar nomination. Just for good measure, he appeared that same year as Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower in the TV miniseries “Ike: The War Years.” On TV, he became Joseph Stalin in 1992’s “Stalin,” Nazi Adolf Eichmann in 1996’s “The Man Who Captured Eichman” and, his favorite role, Texas Ranger Capt. Augustus “Gus” McCrae in the 1989 miniseries “Lonesome Dove.” Still, Duvall, who obsessed over tango dancing when he wasn’t acting, felt all of these characters came from within. “Has to be, it’s you underneath,” Duvall told CBS “60 Minutes” in 2004. “You interpret somebody, you try to let it come from yourself.”

Barack Obama Walks Back Claim That Aliens Are Real

Former President Barack Obama has walked back his claims he made in a recent interview where he claimed aliens are real. On Saturday, Obama, in an interview, shared that aliens are real, but they are not in Area 51. In case you missed it, watch here: Barack Obama on aliens: “They’re real” “But I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility — unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.” pic.twitter.com/c6t0DYxewU — UAP James (@UAPJames) February 14, 2026 After his claims went viral, Obama soon watered down his comments are whether aliens exist. The Hill reported more on Obama walking back his statement on aliens: Former President Obama has clarified recent comments he made about aliens being real, saying that he “saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us.” “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify. Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there,” Obama said in a Sunday post on Instagram featuring his earlier comments. “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!” he added. In an interview released Saturday, liberal media personality Brian Tyler Cohen asked Obama about the existence of aliens, to which the president responded in the affirmative. “Are aliens real?” Cohen asked. “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, and they’re not being kept in — what is it —” Obama said. “Area 51?” Cohen responded. “Area 51. There’s no underground facility. Unless, there’s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the president of the United States,” Obama said. Read his full statement here: Obama Clarifies his remarks about aliens..https://t.co/ObqfOWylyN pic.twitter.com/jy2oJvyv7i — Hidden Underbelly (@Underbelly2_0) February 16, 2026 This isn’t the first time Obama has commented on aliens. Vice reported more on Obama’s previous comments on Aliens back in 2021: Former President Barack Obama appeared on the The Late Show with James Corden on Monday night to crack wise with the comedian and his band. Corden hit the President—who appeared via satellite—with a number of questions. When Corden turned over control of the interview to bandleader Reggie Watts, the conversation got extraterrestrial. “All this talk about them aliens,” Watts said. “I was wondering if you have a theory about that.” Obama fidgeted in his seat. “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air,” Obama said. “The truth is that when I came into office I asked ‘Is there a lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?’ They did a little bit of research and the answer was ‘No.’” “But what is true is that there is footage and records of objects in the sky that we don’t know exactly what they are. How they move, their trajectory,” Obama continued. “They did not have an easily explainable pattern. So I think that people still take that seriously and try to figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today.”

Perdue Truck Plunges Off Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

The family of this trucker could use some prayers. A tractor-trailer driver for Perdue has died after driving off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. According to investigators, the weather was not a factor in the accident. WBOC was the first to report on the accident: Officials say around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, a tractor trailer went overboard and into the water on the west-side of the southbound span of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. The accident occurred just south of Fisherman’s Island. No other vehicles were involved. In a statement to WBOC, Perdue confirmed that the driver died in the incident. “We are heartbroken to confirm that a Perdue driver has passed away following an accident on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge‑Tunnel,” Perdue’s statement reads. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Trump Administration Reportedly Considering Granting Refugee Status To Man Who Burned Quran In London

The Trump administration reportedly is discussing the possibility of granting refugee status to a man who was fined for burning the Quran at a protest outside the Turkish Consulate in London. According to Fox News, U.K. officials are looking to reinstate his overturned conviction. State Department officials are weighing if they’ll help 51-year-old Hamit Coskun flee the United Kingdom if the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) wins its appeal. The Trump administration is in talks to accept Hamit Coskun, who burnt a Koran in a protest outside the Turkish embassy, as a refugee from Britain if his 'blasphemy' conviction is reinstated by the High Court this week. https://t.co/87CNiVrzqZ — The Daily Sceptic (@LD_Sceptics) February 16, 2026 The Telegraph explained further: The potential intervention is likely to escalate transatlantic tensions over free speech, which critics have claimed is being eroded under Sir Keir Starmer’s Government. Mr Coskun overturned a conviction for a religiously aggravated public order offence after he burnt the Koran outside the Turkish embassy in London. However, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is contesting that decision at a hearing in the High Court on Tuesday. A senior US administration official said his case was “one of several cases the administration has made note of”. Mr Coskun sought asylum in the UK from his home country of Turkey, saying Islamic terrorists had destroyed his family’s life. He told The Telegraph that, if he did lose his case, he may be forced “to flee” and seek protection in the US. “For me, as the victim of Islamic terrorism, I cannot remain silent. I may be forced to flee the UK and move to the USA, where President Trump has stood for free speech and against Islamic extremism,” Coskun said, according to the outlet. “If I have to do so, then, to me, the UK will have effectively fallen to Islamism and the speech codes that it wishes to impose on the non-Muslim world,” he added. “Britain could be living under an Islamic blasphemy law in 24 hours. This is how free speech dies,” GB News stated. Britain could be living under an Islamic blasphemy law in 24 hours. This is how free speech dies – Toby Younghttps://t.co/08RUlrPzV9 — GB News (@GBNEWS) February 16, 2026 “We don’t want Islamic blasphemy laws in this country,” Conservative MP Nick Timothy commented. We don’t want Islamic blasphemy laws in this country. My letter to the Director of Public Prosecutions. pic.twitter.com/e3qJVmqusW — Nick Timothy MP (@NJ_Timothy) February 13, 2026 Fox News has more: On Feb. 13, 2025, he traveled to the Turkish Consulate in London and set fire to a copy of the Quran while shouting slogans including “Islam is [the] religion of terrorism” and “f— Islam.” There he was attacked by Moussa Kadri, a passerby who chased him with a knife, kicked him and spat on him. Kadri later received a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of assault and having a bladed article in a public place. Initially charged with harassing the “religious institution of Islam,” Coskun’s case drew intervention from the National Secular Society and the Free Speech Union, who argued prosecutors were effectively reviving blasphemy laws already abolished in 2008. Coskun was convicted of a religiously aggravated public order offense and fined in June 2025. That October, Coskun’s conviction was overturned when a judge ruled that while burning a Quran was “desperately upsetting and offensive” to many Muslims, the right to free expression “must include the right to express views that offend, shock or disturb.” The CPS is now seeking to reverse that decision at London’s High Court, with Coskun telling The Telegraph that if the appeal goes against him, he may be forced “to flee” the country.
