In Prosecuting Trump‚ Democrats Have Exonerated Him

Despite their best efforts‚ have Democrats begun an inexorable elevation of former President Donald Trump? For the better part of a decade‚ Democrats and the Left have thrown everything they could think of against the man they live to loathe. In the process‚ they have created a quasi-caricature that appears to be decreasingly believable to an increasing proportion of Americans. The question is whether these attacks have come full circle‚ accomplishing what Democrats most sought to avoid. Have they vilified Trump to victimhood and prosecuted him back into the presidency? READ MORE: Biden’s Silence: Anti-Democracy Democrats Refuse to Certify a Trump Win Since Trump burst on the political scene in 2016‚ Democrats and the Left have busted their guts laughing at him. When that didn’t work and he won‚ they burst all boundaries going after him. Their efforts have ranged from slights to a Russian dossier to two impeachments. Even after Trump left office‚ they refused to stop. Unquestionably‚ these efforts have had an effect — and equally unquestionably‚ Trump has given ample fodder to use against him: the result being that with Trump poised to win an unprecedented third successive major party presidential nomination (a feat last accomplished by Franklin D. Roosevelt 84 years ago)‚ he has become a highly polarizing figure. Yet amid their attacks‚ Democrats and the Left must confront a nagging reality. Trump is not simply continuing to win political contests; his popularity is growing. In 2016‚ Trump won the presidency with 45.9 percent of the popular vote. In 2020‚ he lost the presidency with 46.9 percent of the popular vote. Today‚ in the RealClearPolitics average of national polling‚ he stands at 47.4 percent in a two-way contest with President Joe Biden. The gains are not dramatic‚ but neither can they be ignored. For a politician so relentlessly attacked — in the establishment media‚ throughout entertainment‚ and across America’s elite — this is nothing short of astounding. It is also counterintuitive. It raises the possibility of whether the attacks have reached the end of their effectiveness and are now having a positive effect. Instead of bearing the fruit they desired‚ are Democrats and the Left about to reap a harvest of the forbidden fruit they detest? There are several instances in which it is possible to see Democrats’ efforts falling like dominoes in Trump’s favor. The ham-handed attempt to bar Trump from state ballots comes first to mind. Only the biggest zealots could have seen this as acceptable: allowing states to unilaterally determine who could run on a ballot for the highest federal office. Clearly‚ none of the Supreme Court justices did. By the overreach of their own hand‚ Democrats now face the prospect that Americans will perceive that the other court cases against Trump are equally politically motivated‚ that they are equally invalidated‚ and that Trump is vindicated. (RELATED: Nine Justices Preserve President Trump’s Ballot Status) Collectively‚ these other court cases against present further instances for Democrats to feel a whipsaw effect. What if one — such as the one in Georgia where Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has turned this into a sideshow worthy of TMZ — is turned away? Or‚ worse yet for Democrats‚ what if Trump wins in one of these cases? The risk is that such an outcome could‚ in Americans’ minds‚ extend to the other cases too. Even if Trump does not prevail‚ the risk remains that Trump could be perceived as having been more persecuted than prosecuted. Sound far-fetched? Just look back to Bill Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky scandal. Despite being convicted in the legal process‚ he was acquitted in the court of public opinion. Although the scandal played out publicly for months in 1998‚ ultimately leading to his impeachment and being disbarred‚ Clinton left office in 2001 with higher approval ratings than he had during his first term. Another example: high-profile Biden administration policy failures. Many of those most opposed by the public seem to have been pursued by Biden as anti-Trump knee-jerk reactions. The administration’s wildly unpopular illegal immigration policy stands out. Trump wanted to build a wall‚ so Biden bent over backwards in opening the border. Ditto in foreign policy‚ where we’ve seen a precipitous withdrawal from Afghanistan and then deliberately seeking reproachment with terrorist Iran in response to Trump’s abandonment of the nuclear deal. To Trump’s “drill baby drill” approach‚ the Biden administration went full throttle to expensive green energy initiatives that raise costs on working Americans. In each of these‚ Democrats let their anti-Trump mindset paint themselves into a corner with the American public. Then there is Biden himself. Democrats and the Left coalesced around Biden for one reason: to beat Trump. While Biden accomplished that run‚ he has failed to succeed on his own. Only the most partisan can claim to ignore Biden’s failing performance‚ which has stretched from his refusal to campaign in 2020‚ to his refusal to face the press during his first term‚ to his rare‚ little-short-of-disastrous public appearances today. And now a demanding 2024 campaign‚ in which he must play catch-up‚ awaits. Again‚ the results of Democrats’ anti-Trump crusade. And what if Trump should win in November? Democrats have set him up for early success. All Trump need do to look presidential is to not be Biden. By simply undoing Biden’s policies‚ Trump will reap immediate approval in simply doing his job. Each of these dominoes is one Democrats have set up. And on each‚ Democrats could not keep from pushing in their pursuit against Trump. Certainly‚ Trump bears a substantial onus for his high negative ratings. But this raises the question higher: How has a president out of office for four years and under constant attack from Democrats and the Left not simply retained his high daunting support but continued growing it? For an answer‚ his opponents should begin by looking at themselves. Rather than eviscerating Trump‚ have they exonerated him to a growing number of Americans? J.T. Young was a professional staffer in the House and Senate from 1987–2000‚ served in the Department of Treasury and Office of Management and Budget from 2001–2004‚ and was director of government relations for a Fortune 20 company from 2004–2023. PBS’s Pathetic Denial of Biden’s ‘Illegal’ Apology:’ ‘We Should Correct the Record’

The Monday evening edition of the PBS NewsHour featured a spicier-than-usual “Politics Monday” segment with NPR’s Tamara Keith and Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report‚ both seeing a more favorable issue landscape for President Joe Biden. But it was co-anchor Geoff Bennett that sucked up to Biden the most. Geoff Bennett: ….Mr. Trump mocked Biden's childhood stutter and pounced on the president saying in an interview with MSNBC over the weekend that he regretted using the term “illegal” during his State of the Union address to describe the suspected killer of the University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. The term “illegal” is considered offensive on the left‚ and Biden eventually bowed to media and left-wing pressure to apologize for his word choice. PBS aired the relevant clips: Joe Biden: I shouldn't have used illegal. I should have -- it's undocumented. And‚ look‚ when I spoke about the difference between Trump and me‚ one of the things I talked about on the border was that his -- the way he talks about vermin‚ the way he talks about these people polluting the blood. I talked about what I'm not going to do‚ what I won't do. I'm not going to treat any -- any -- any of these people with disrespect. Donald Trump: He was an illegal migrant and he shouldn't have been in our country and he never would have been under the Trump policy….And Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer. Co-anchor Geoff Bennett lunged immediately to shield Biden from Trump. Bennett: Let's bring in our Politics Monday team. That's Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report With Amy Walter‚ and Tamara Keith of NPR. It's great to see you both. And‚ look‚ we should correct the record because President Biden never apologized to the alleged killer‚ as Donald Trump said he did. He never even apologized for using the word illegal…. MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart asked Biden do you "regret" the word choice‚ and he agreed. Even on screen at MSNBC‚ the screen read "Biden regrets calling migrant an 'illegal' at the SOTU." He didn't say "sorry" or "I apologize‚" but how desperate is PBS here? Tamara Keith of National Public Radio came with the requisite spin. Keith: ….Immigration and the border keeps rising in terms of voter concern‚ voter priorities. And President Biden is not running away from this issue. There was a time where he sort of was‚ but that time is past. And now he has something to say‚ which is‚ hey‚ there was this bipartisan deal in the Senate. It was tough on the border. I would have supported it. I did support it. And Trump tanked it. And that is Biden's message that you're going to hear again and again. Now‚ will it work? I don't know…. The segment shifted from immigration‚ then to social spending and Donald Trump’s vague pronouncements in a CNBC interview about “cutting” entitlements. Bennett took the Democratic election-year line‚ seeing no worries on the immediate horizon for Social Security. Bennett: So‚ look‚ Social Security is solvent through‚ what‚ the year 2034. Medicare is solvent through 2028. After that‚ some choices have to be made. But to talk about potentially making cuts to these programs‚ that's a choice. Keith also kicked the can down the road and pretended‚ for the sake of Democratic electoral convenience‚ that congressional Republicans would ever actually threaten entitlements anytime soon. Keith: And these are obviously very difficult public policy issues that are going to have to be dealt with eventually‚ and they are concerns for some voters. But‚ generally speaking‚ President Biden should send a thank you note to former President Trump‚ because the idea that Trump is going to come for your Social Security and Medicare was just‚ that case was just made easier by what Trump said on TV‚ because this is an issue that Biden has been trying to push‚ trying to say that Republicans want to take away these programs that you care about a lot…. This segment was brought to you in part by BDO. A transcript is available‚ click “Expand.” PBS NewsHour 3/11/24 7:37:37 p.m. (ET) Geoff Bennett: President Biden traveled to New Hampshire today‚ his latest trip to a battleground state after he and former President Donald Trump held dueling rallies over the weekend. Mr. Trump mocked Biden's childhood stutter and pounced on the president saying in an interview with MSNBC over the weekend that he regretted using the term illegal during his State of the Union address to describe the suspected killer of the University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Joe Biden‚ President of the United States: I shouldn't have used illegal. I should have — it's undocumented. And‚ look‚ when I spoke about the difference between Trump and me‚ one of the things I talked about on the border was that his — the way he talks about vermin‚ the way he talks about these people polluting the blood. I talked about what I'm not going to do‚ what I won't do. I'm not going to treat any — any — any of these people with disrespect. Donald Trump‚ Former President of the United States (R) and Current U.S. Presidential Candidate: He was an illegal migrant and he shouldn't have been in our country and he never would have been under the Trump policy. (Cheering and applause) Donald Trump: And Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer. Geoff Bennett: Let's bring in our Politics Monday team. That's Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report With Amy Walter and Tamara Keith of NPR. It's great to see you both. And‚ look‚ we should correct the record because President Biden never apologized to the alleged killer‚ as Donald Trump said he did. He never even apologized for using the word illegal. But‚ Tam‚ the Biden campaign has been saying for weeks now that they want to draw a contrast between these two visions. And never before‚ you could argue‚ have differing visions been so clear on this topic of immigration that more voters say they care about‚ prioritizing over the economy. Tamara Keith‚ National Public Radio: Right. Immigration and the border keeps rising in terms of voter concern‚ voter priorities. I don't know. Trump is taking a very different tack‚ and he is running — sort of rerunning the playbook that he ran in 2016‚ all the way down to‚ in 2016‚ he also talked about a young woman who was killed in an incident that involved someone who was in the country illegally. And now he is very focused at this time on the Riley case and saying — quite explicitly saying suburban housewives are worried about illegal immigrants coming into their homes and going to their kitchens‚ I mean‚ which is a very Trumpy way to say things. But he's being very explicit that he is running a campaign based on the idea that his immigration policies will make you safe‚ that you — this thing you're worried about‚ I'm going to be tough. And Biden is running on sort of a more nuanced‚ we need to be tough‚ but we also need to be compassionate. Geoff Bennett: How do you see it? Amy Walter‚ The Cook Political Report: Yes‚ that's exactly right. The ways in which we talk about the term immigration sound different to different groups of people. And so if you say border security‚ I think that's one thing that across the board voters say that they are concerned about. What to do about it is a different question. And I was digging into some polling that Pew did a couple of weeks ago asking Hispanic voters specifically what they thought the answer could be to solving some of this. And one of those is‚ OK‚ increase more deportations. Well‚ among non-Hispanic voters‚ 59 percent say that sounds like a great idea. Only 33 percent of Hispanic voters say that they think that's a good idea. Do you think it's increasing crime? Again‚ overwhelming percentage of non-Hispanic voters say‚ yes‚ I do think that what is happening on the border is having an impact on crime. Latino voters are split on that issue. And we see it too in just who's the most concerned about this issue. We saw it in Katie — Senator Katie Britt's response in — to the State of the Union. We have seen it in ads for congressional candidates that have been running thus far. And‚ of course‚ we see it in the rhetoric of Donald Trump . The issue of the border is the number one topic for their base. And so that to me is the question. It's — we know‚ Republicans‚ this is their very top issue. It's not as important of an issue for Democrats. What is it going to mean for these other groups of voters who don't align themselves in either camp? Geoff Bennett: Yes. Well‚ look‚ there's also a contrast on this issue of social spending. President Biden‚ as you all both know‚ released a 2025 budget today that calls for broad new social spending‚ higher taxes on corporations and the wealthy. Donald Trump‚ meantime‚ on CNBC said there is a lot that can be done in terms of cutting the government programs‚ Social Security and Medicaid. Donald Trump: There is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements‚ in terms of cutting and in terms of also the theft and the bad management of entitlements‚ tremendous bad management of entitlements. There's tremendous amounts of things‚ numbers of things you can do. Geoff Bennett: So‚ look‚ Social Security is solvent through‚ what‚ the year 2034. Medicare is solvent through 2028. After that‚ some choices have to be made. But to talk about potentially making cuts to these programs‚ that's a choice. Tamara Keith: Right. And these are obviously very difficult public policy issues that are going to have to be dealt with eventually‚ and they are concerns for some voters. But‚ generally speaking‚ President Biden should send a thank you note to former President Trump‚ because the idea that Trump is going to come for your Social Security and Medicare was just — that case was just made easier by what Trump said on TV‚ because this is an issue that Biden has been trying to push‚ trying to say that Republicans want to take away these programs that you care about a lot. You saw it in last year's State of the Union‚ an entire extended back-and-forth about this very topic. And it became an applause line for President Biden for half the year. Did you see my State of the Union where I negotiated to preserve Medicare and Social Security with the Republicans? This is something that the Biden campaign is going to be very happy to talk about. Amy Walter: Well‚ it's also difficult‚ though‚ to make a campaign about what you want to make it about. If it were up to — right. If it were up to Democrats‚ this would be an election about health care. It would be an election about protecting Social Security and Medicare‚ all the issues — it would be about abortion‚ all the issues where they have a natural advantage. Instead‚ we have a crisis on the border and we have the American consumer who's not feeling great about the economy. Those are the issues that are in front of them at this moment in time. Now‚ with billions of dollars that will be spent on the election‚ and‚ of course‚ we have months to go where other issues can pop up‚ this may make it into the — it's definitely going to make it into their advertising. Whether it makes it into the consciousness of voters as their top salient issue‚ we will have to wait and see. Geoff Bennett: Well‚ meantime‚ the Biden campaign is looking to lock in the image that President Biden projected at that State of the Union address last week. Here's a new ad from his campaign released over the weekend. Joe Biden : Look‚ I'm not a young guy. That's no secret. But here's the deal. I understand how to get things done for the American people. Geoff Bennett: So walk us through the new strategy here‚ Tam. Tamara Keith: If you can't change it and you can't hide from it‚ why not run straight into it headlong? And that's exactly what they're doing with the age issue‚ which is — it's a challenge that they can't fix‚ because every single day‚ Joe Biden gets older. That is a benefit of living‚ is that every day you get older. But it's a challenge for his campaign. And even though they say this is a media creation and a media fixation‚ I will tell you‚ when I was out talking to voters last week‚ they brought it up. I didn't bring it up. They brought it up‚ not just Republicans‚ but also Democrats. It was something that was discussed repeatedly by voters as a concern. They are trying to neutralize it with this ad and with other things and arguing‚ as President Biden has now said a few times‚ it's not about your age. It's about the age of your ideas. And that is the way that he's trying to turn it‚ at least in this current iteration‚ $30 million of spending in the next six weeks. And that's just the beginning. Geoff Bennett: Thirty million dollars‚ that's real money. Amy Walter: Yes‚ you can do a lot of stuff with $30 million‚ although it's $30 million in — are we still in March? It's still in March. Tamara Keith: It's March. Amy Walter: It's still in March. Amy Walter: We have got a long way to go before November. But‚ look‚ I think the issue for Biden is‚ his age is also a stand-in for voters thinking he's not being effective‚ right? And so when we hear about this term of he doesn't sound right‚ or he looks weak‚ getting a win on something‚ whether that is on a border legislation‚ whether that's something else that we're going to see in these next few months‚ I think that is going to be more important than a conversation about whether he's really all that old. Geoff Bennett: Amy Walter and Tamara Keith‚ thanks‚ as always‚ for your analysis. Tamara Keith: You're welcome. Amy Walter: You're welcome.

Austin woman says she jumped through her window to escape naked intruder she found smoking drugs in her home

A Texas woman described the harrowing series of events after she went to her home to find a naked man smoking drugs after ransacking her belongings. Austin police said that a SWAT team had to respond to her home after 44-year-old Larry Robinson broke in. Elena Doguet told KEYE-TV that she had returned home from visiting her husband when she realized someone had trashed the house. Her guard dogs were barking and foaming at the mouth. That's when she found Robinson allegedly naked with a drug pipe and a lighter. “I guess I hadn’t heard him come in‚ because he didn’t have shoes on or any other clothes‚ so I saw him and was obviously startled and just kind of froze there‚" said Doguet. She said that she told him to leave her home‚ but he didn't respond. “He didn’t have any real reaction; he seemed almost like he wasn’t even there‚” she said. “There’s no better word for it‚ than he was out of his mind.”She said that the man started to smoke from the pipe again so she took the opportunity to call 911 but the call was cut off. She decided to make a run for a window but she was unable to open it. That's when Robinson hit her with a dog crate that was on the floor. “He basically slammed me against the wall with the crate‚ and it cut my leg‚” Doguet said. She said the man walked around the house‚ and she thinks one of their dogs bit him because he cursed at the dog. Then‚ he turned his attention back to her in the living room. “I just remember‚ that was my one moment of panic‚” she said. She jumped out of the window backward and waited for police to arrive. When she told them that there were loaded weapons in the home‚ they called in the SWAT team. Robinson was arrested after a 90-minute standoff. “While I think I may be handling it pretty well‚ there’s a lot under the surface that is gonna take some time to repair‚” Doguet said. The man is facing burglary charges. Doguet says that she found urine in her front hallway and feces in her bathtub. They are waiting for their homeowner's insurance claim to be processed and have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the damage from the bizarre incident. Elected officials defunded the police department in Austin in 2020 by millions of dollars‚ but voters later approved a proposition to fund more police officers. Here's the interview with Doguet: Naked intruder terrorizes Austin woman in her own home www.youtube.com Like Blaze News? Republican Rep. Ken Buck announces he's leaving office 'at the end of next week'

Republican Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado‚ who announced last year that he would not seek re-election‚ has now announced that he plans to leave office at the end of next week."Today‚ I am announcing that I will depart Congress at the end of next week. I look forward to staying involved in our political process‚ as well as spending more time in Colorado and with my family‚" the lawmaker said in a statement.Buck‚ whose resignation will be effective at the end of Friday‚ March 22‚ will depart from Congress around nine months before the end of his term. — (@) Last year‚ Buck was one of the eight House Republicans who voted to oust then-Rep. Kevin McCarthy from the House speakership. McCarthy‚ a Republican from California‚ ultimately chose to depart from Congress before the end of term. This year‚ Buck was one of the three House Republicans who voted against impeaching Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas."This place just keeps going downhill‚" Buck said‚ adding that he does not need to spend his time there. — (@) Buck has represented Colorado's 4th Congressional District since early 2015. GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert‚ who currently represents Colorado's 3rd Congressional District‚ announced last year that she would run to represent the state's 4th Congresssional District. Former President Donald Trump has backed Boebert's bid‚ declaring earlier this month in a post on Truth Social that the congresswoman "has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Colorado's 4th Congressional District!""It’s my honor to have the endorsement of the greatest President our country has ever known - Donald J. Trump‚" Boebert tweeted. — (@) Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Ex-Texas county GOP official sentenced to more than 400 years in prison over child sex assault and child porn possession

A Texas man was sentenced to more than 400 years in prison over child sex assault and possession of child sex abuse material. 45-year-old Bo Michael Dresner of San Marcos was arrested in April 2019 after a child came forth and accused him of sexual assault. Investigators found evidence of a second child abused by Dresner. One of the victims said that Dresner had given her a melatonin pill and another unidentified drug to "help her sleep‚" according to an affidavit. She said that she awoke to find that her clothing was taken off and he was touching her inappropriately. She was unable to stop him because of the drugs he had given her. On Monday‚ Judge Gary Steel of the 274th District Court sentenced Dresner to four consecutive sentences of 75 years for four counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child. He was also sentenced with stacked prison terms for 61 remaining counts of child sex abuse material. A jury trial began against Dresner on March 4‚ but he decided to change his plea to guilty on all 65 counts during the first day of testimony. Among those who were to testify against Dresner were one of his biological daughters and another minor who lived at his home. During the investigation‚ Hays County deputies stopped Dresner with a one-way ticket before he left for Armenia‚ which does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. When they searched his digital devices‚ they found "hundreds of thousands" of images of child sexual abuse material. They also noted that he had searched for countries that didn't extradite criminals to the U.S. Dresner had been previously accused of child molestation‚ and he pleaded guilty in 2005 to abusing a 15-year-old in Minnesota‚ but he received a reduced sentence. One of the children he was convicted of molesting had also accused him of sexual abuse in 2012‚ but Hays County Criminal District Attorney Kelly Higgins said that those allegations weren't fully investigated by law enforcement at the time. The child was later returned to the home where Dresner lived. Dresner previously worked as a precinct chair of the Hays County Republican Party. He had also served as the sergeant-at-arms for the party. Here's a news report about the sentence: Like Blaze News? House Judiciary chair Jim Jordan in scathing letter launches probe into DOJ's arrest of Blaze News journalist Steve Baker

Republican House Judiciary chairman Jim Jordan on Tuesday opened an investigation into the U.S. Department of Justice's arrest and treatment of Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker over his coverage of events that transpired on Jan. 6‚ 2021‚ at the U.S. Capitol.Independent journalist Breanna Morello posted Jordan's scathing letter to Matthew Graves‚ U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia‚ which is dated March 12: — (@) What does the letter say?Jordan's letter outlines "serious concerns" about the DOJ's "selective prosecution" concerning Baker's March 1 arrest in Dallas "as well as the Department's commitments to the First Amendment rights of journalists."The letter notes that other journalists who were in the Capitol on Jan. 6 haven't been charged‚ yet the DOJ still decided to charge Baker‚ who was critical of federal investigations and prosecutions related to Jan. 6.The letter also cites Baker's attorney‚ who noted that the DOJ "is not allowed to decide what press coverage it likes and what press coverage offends it and take prosecutorial action based on those judgments."In addition‚ the letter states that it appears the DOJ "deviated from practice" by indicting Baker "when he voluntarily surrendered" and "subjected him to formal arrest — that is‚ the FBI fingerprinted‚ photographed‚ handcuffed‚ and placed Mr. Baker in the back of an FBI vehicle‚ transported him to the courthouse‚ and brought him before the magistrate judge in a 'belly chain‚ box cuffs‚ and leg shackles.'"The letter also states that Baker's attorney‚ over a long career‚ never before saw the FBI do this to others charged with misdemeanors."This conduct smacks of harassment and selective treatment for a disfavored criminal defendant‚" the letter also states‚ adding that it appears the DOJ has violated its "mission of equal justice under the law" and that its conduct "criminalizes politics and weaponizes the administration of justice."What's more‚ the letter criticizes the administration of President Joe Biden‚ noting concerns over its "commitment to equal application of the law."Democrat U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler (N.Y.)‚ the committee's ranking member‚ was copied on the letter. What is Jordan demanding? In his letter‚ Jordan demanded that Graves produce the following no later than 5 p.m. March 26:All documents and communications regarding Baker's arrest; All documents and communications regarding any investigation‚ prosecution‚ and arrest of any other journalist covering Jan. 6;All documents and communications related to the DOJ's determination to request pretrial detention of defendants charged in connection with Jan. 6 — plus those who are now or who have been in pretrial detention related to Jan. 6.Jordan's letter concludes by reminding Graves that the Judiciary Committee has "jurisdiction to oversee" the DOJ regarding matters "related to civil liberties."What is the early reaction?Baker‚ in a Tuesday night statement to Blaze News‚ said the following:"Breanna Morello’s advocacy for the innocent and the overcharged‚ over-persecuted January 6 defendants is tireless and without peer. What we see from her publicly is only a fraction of what she does behind the scenes.“I want to thank Rep. Jim Jordan for not only recognizing my struggle but also for demanding full transparency in the DOJ’s prosecution of all J6 cases. I’m blessed by the platform I've been given‚ but I intend to use this attention to shine a light on all those who have been unfairly treated by the unprecedented weaponization of the DOJ‚ their double standards‚ and the selective prosecution being wielded against J6 defendants.”Blaze Media editor in chief Matthew Peterson added the following statement to Blaze News:"All Americans should welcome this investigation. As Congressman Jordan indicates‚ what is at stake here is the American principle of equal justice under the law. This is not a partisan issue: if the Department of Justice is allowed to selectively target journalists who criticize it‚ the freedom of the press will be lost‚ and the slow death of journalism in America will be complete."Although he was not working for us at the time‚ Baker has nothing to hide: we have made the video of his time in the Capitol on January 6th public so all Americans can judge for themselves. Likewise‚ the American people deserve to know the truth about how and why the Department of Justice decided to treat Steve Baker as a criminal."This is a developing‚ breaking news story and will be updated accordingly.Like Blaze News? Biden becomes presumptive Democratic presidential nominee; Trump on the cusp of clinching GOP nomination

President Joe Biden has now won enough delegates to become the presumptive 2024 Democratic presidential nominee while former President Donald Trump is on the cusp of clinching the 2024 Republican presidential nod.Biden won the Democratic presidential primary in Georgia on Tuesday while Trump won the Republican presidential primary in the Peach State. While Trump had already cleared the field of primary challengers‚ former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley‚ who announced last week that she would suspend her campaign‚ still earned tens of thousands of votes in Georgia. But according to the Associated Press‚ Peach State voters do not register by party‚ and registered voters may take part in either party's primary.Trump and Biden won in Mississippi‚ and both will likely win in Washington state as well while Trump has a chance to pick up delegates from Hawaii's Republican presidential caucus. While Americans will face a rematch of the 2020 presidential contest in 2024‚ with Biden once again at the top of the Democratic ticket and Trump leading the GOP ticket‚ Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is also in the mix this year as an independent candidate who‚ while unlikely to win‚ could potentially siphon off some votes from the major parties' candidates.Already the oldest president in history‚ Biden would be 86 by the end of a second term in office if he were to win re-election in 2024. Last week‚ the president claimed during his State of the Union address that the state of the union is "strong and getting stronger."Like Blaze News?
