Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) said at a press event on Wednesday that university leaders who have placated pro-Hamas extremists on their campuses deserve to lose their jobs and their schools should have their federal funding pulled. Barrasso’s remarks come as multiple major universities have seen encampments spring up on their campuses where anti-Semitism has been fostered and various criminal acts have taken place. “Violent mobs are continuing to sweep across America’s campuses. And these are anti-Jewish mobs‚ pro-Hamas mobs‚” Barrasso said. “We have Jewish students on campus who are hearing the kind of threats that their great grandparents heard in Nazi Germany. And yet‚ the Biden administration and the Democrats across the country refuse to act.” “Jewish students have actually been chased out of the classroom and off campus. And yet‚ university administrators‚ they cater to the mobs‚” he continued. “The pro-Hamas terrorists have been out there shutting down classrooms and they have canceled classes today at UCLA. Commencements have been canceled.” Barrasso said that college university presidents and administrators who have “put extremism ahead of education” should “lose their jobs.” “So‚ Joe Biden and the national Democrats try to downplay this un-American activity. That’s dangerous and it’s wrong‚” he said. “We have laws in this country to protect against violence‚ to protect students. Students have a right to be protected. The United Methodist church has lifted its four-decade ban on LGBT clergy members. On Wednesday with no debate‚ church delegates repealed a ban prohibiting “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” from being ordained or appointed as ministers. Delegates voted 692-51 at their first General Conference in five years‚ a sharp contrast to previous conferences‚ which have upheld the ban. The ban was initially introduced in 1984. Penalties for celebrating same-sex marriages were also overturned. The United Methodist church had previously put performing same-sex unions on a list of offenses that could result in a church trial. The General Conference was held at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte‚ North Carolina. Many LGBT supporters in attendance at the conference reacted emotionally‚ hugging and crying at the decision‚ according to United Methodist News. The church we’ve loved has found a home for us.” “We’ve been going on like this since the ’70s and‚ finally‚ in just a brief few minutes with no debate‚ it was gone. And now we can get on about the business of the church‚” said Marilyn Murphy‚ an observer from the South Carolina Conference. “I did tear up this morning at the announcement of the vote because it was just a huge relief to see justice had been done after so many years‚” said Matt Patrick‚ co-pastor at the University United Methodist Church in Tulsa‚ Oklahoma. “There’s just been a lot of pain in order to get us to this place.” Conservatives in both the Methodist Church‚ as well as the Episcopal and the Evangelical Lutheran Churches have objected to the move toward LGBT clergy. Some have even broken away to form their own denominations in response. “This is certainly the lightning rod issue‚ the presenting issue‚ but our division goes so much deeper‚” said Rob Renfroe‚ president of Good News‚ a Methodist traditionalist caucus. “As the church becomes more and more liberal‚ and if a social agenda becomes its driving force‚ that’s not going to grow the church‚” Renfroe said. In recent years‚ many Christian churches have moved in a progressive direction‚ including on LGBT issues. Speculation has swirled about whether the Catholic Church would change its positions on issues like women clergy‚ contraception‚ gay marriage‚ and gender ideology‚ but the church has never changed its official doctrine.

America’s college campuses are in a state of complete meltdown —  at least in the blue states‚ where administrators are catering to the whims of America-hating‚ evil‚ radical people.  The question everyone is asking right now is an easy question: Why are these students — the most privileged people in the history of the world‚ no skill set‚ no problems — LARPing as terrorists and standing for murderous groups like Hamas‚ Hezbollah‚ Palestinian Islamic Jihad‚ and the like&;#63; Why are they overtly chanting anti-Semitic slogans&;#63; Why are they doing all of this&;#63;   The answer is very simple. They want revolution.  Gary Saul Morson‚ a professor at Northwestern University‚ wrote an interesting book titled “Wonder Confronts Uncertainty‚” which is about the history of Russian literature. But what the book is really about is what he describes as a Russian type: the revolutionary‚ typically from a well-off background but in love with destruction for its own sake. Mikhail Bakunin‚ a very famous nineteenth-century anarchist‚ once said‚ “The urge to destroy is also a creative urge.” Then‚ in 1918‚ a Russian poet named Alexander Blok wrote an essay titled “The Intelligentsia and the Revolution” in which he argued that violence is an antidote to the “boredom‚ the triviality” of regular life‚ adding it will “make everything over …  change our false‚ boring‚ hideous life … This is called revolution.” But Revolutionaries cannot succeed without mainstream support. During the lead-up to the Russian Revolution‚ the so-called constitutional Democratic Party openly cheered and encouraged terrorists‚ even fundraising for them. After a massive terrorist attack in 1906‚ the party leader said‚ “Condemned terror&;#63; Never. That would mean the moral death of the party.” Naturally‚ when the Bolsheviks actually won‚ they killed or arrested all the leading members of the Constitutional Democratic Party. These are bored middle- to upper-class kids‚ privileged by a system that has handed them everything‚ including admission to our top universities‚ but given them no mission by their parents or by their society‚ other than to “find themselves.” They’ve been told that they are the smartest and brightest‚ the people who are going to lead us to the future.  But they’ve been given no actual set of values.  So they go to campus and meet fellow revolutionaries and revolutionary professors who are also incredibly privileged and inform them that the system that has given them their privilege is corrupt and evil‚ and they feel guilty. Then‚ the only way to alleviate that guilt is to join the revolution‚ to cosplay oppression. So they have to find a revolutionary cause and LARP as revolutionaries oppressed by the system and dissociate from their privilege. They have to join the mass of the supposedly “oppressed.” What’s going on at these campuses seems like LARPing: live action role playing. And maybe these idiots will go on to integrate into more mainstream institutions‚ which they then destroy and corrupt from the inside.  After all‚ that has been the formula for the last several decades‚ and it has absolutely destroyed major American institutions‚ from universities to businesses. The radicals went into traditional American society. Instead of being shaped by those institutions‚ they shaped them. But there is‚ in fact‚ a darker and more violent path. That is the path where the LARPing for terrorism doesn’t actually just stop at taking over campus buildings or assaulting Jewish students. That’s the path where a few acts of violence blossom out‚ and the real revolution occurs through violence.  That has happened before in American history. In 1971 and 1972‚ there were five bombings a day in the United States. Groups ranging from the Black Panthers to the Symbionese Liberation Army to the Weather Underground engaged in violent terrorism every day.  A possible prediction for the United States is both paths. The radicals will continue to be admitted to the halls of power on the one hand‚ and on the other‚ they will increasingly engage in violence‚ all while humored by the Democratic Party. In other words‚ if you wanted to get the administration to enforce Title VI — which says you cannot be harassed or intimidated on a college campus on account of race‚ ethnicity‚ sexual orientation‚ etc. —  could the government threaten withdrawal of student funding&;#63; Cardona answered yes‚ of course; if a school refused to comply with Title VI‚ the government would remove federal dollars. But they’re not doing that. They’re not even threatening to do that. Why&;#63; Because the Biden administration is in the same position as the original Constitutional Democratic Party in Russia. They like patting the radicals on the head. They’ve been doing this since 2020‚ when Kamala Harris was talking about bailing out rioters in the middle of Black Lives Matter summer. These terrible college students‚ people who believe truly evil things‚ will likely get more and more revolutionary. And a subset of them will not stop at building takeovers. All it takes is somebody to break the glass first. So what exactly is going to break the glass&;#63; What’s going to move these people from taking over campus buildings to committing bombings&;#63; It could be as simple as something like Donald Trump winning the 2024 election. Student protesters were rioting in 1968‚ but it took Richard Nixon’s election to push those protesters underground and then into overt acts of routine terrorism. Given that the entire Left has now deemed Trump a fascist threat to the United States‚ would it truly be that shocking if the same students now barricading themselves inside administration buildings on behalf of actual terrorist groups like Hamas decided to ratchet up their “intifada” to the next level&;#63; No‚ that would not be shocking at all.

Things got wild on Tuesday night during the Brewers-Rays game in Milwaukee when two players started throwing punches‚ resulting in four suspensions over the brawl. It happened at American Family Field in the eighth inning when Jose Siri — for the Tampa Bay Rays — grounded out against Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe‚ leading to words being exchanged between the players‚ the Associated Press reported. In the clip on social media‚ the umpire then got in between the two players attempting to cool things off‚ before Uribe took a giant swing at Siri —followed by the Rays player hitting right back. In just a matter of seconds‚ the Brewers and Rays dugouts and bullpens completely emptied out‚ with multiple players now involved in the huge brawl. Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins could be seen trying to break things up before he got pushed to the ground. “I don’t know who said something first but I saw them talking to each other somewhat discreetly and then off it went‚” Hoskins told the AP. I don’t think I did anything bad‚” ESPN reported. “When I was in the on-deck circle and he was warming up I felt like he kept looking over at me and staring at me‚ so I just had that feeling‚” he added. “Obviously‚ when I went to first base‚ I confirmed that he had a problem with me.” Before the brawl‚ things had started to get tense between the two teams after Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta appeared to intentionally throw a ball at Siri‚ hitting him with a 3-0 fastball‚ leading to ejections for Peralta and Brewers manager Pat Murphy‚ the AP noted. The move resulted in Peralta being taken off the pitcher’s mound and replaced by Uribe. On Wednesday‚ the MLB announced varied suspensions for the three Milwaukee players and Siri‚ with all four being fined‚ the outlet noted. Uribe got a six-game suspension for the brawl with Siri‚ while Peralta was suspended for five games for allegedly intentionally throwing at Siri in the sixth inning‚ something he has denied. “There was no reason for me to hit him‚” Peralta said. “My pitch count was really low and my goal tonight was to go deep into the game and give our bullpen a breather because they’ve been working a lot‚ so there was no reason to hit him.” The Rays player initially received a three-game suspension that was reduced to two‚ and Murphy will also be forced to sit out for two games as a result of Peralta’s actions.
