Denmark is reportedly open to discussing a more prominent role for the United States in Greenland short of a wholly selling the island. The Danish government is trying to avoid a public dispute with the incoming Trump administration over the future of Greenland. While Denmark is against selling Greenland to the U.S., Danish officials have sent messages to Trump officials offering discussion on a new partnership in Greenland’s future, according to Axios. The messages were sent in response to Trump’s expressed willingness to purchase Greenland outright. The president-elect has said that the United States has major national security interests in Greenland and that the island is a key to pushing back against Russian and Chinese influence in the Arctic, an issue that will grow more prominent as Arctic ice melts and opens and expands new lanes for shipping. “Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation,” Trump said in a recent post on Truth Social. “We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!” Trump first raised a potential purchase of Greenland during his first term, though the suggestion was largely dismissed. Trump’s renewed interest in purchasing the island appears to be a much more serious proposal, however, and that has worried Danish officials who do not want to sell the island nor fight publicly with the Trump administration over it. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed during a Friday interview with Joe Rogan that his company is scrapping diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and embracing “masculine energy” in corporate culture. “A lot of the corporate world is pretty culturally neutered,” Zuckerberg told Rogan. “The kind of masculine energy I think is good, and obviously society has plenty of that, but I think corporate culture was really trying to get away from it.” He acknowledged that while it’s important for companies to support women, the notion that “masculinity is bad” has become prevalent, which he believes is not the right approach. “These things can always go a little far,” he added. “I think having a culture that celebrates the aggression a bit more has its own merits that are really positive,” said Zuckerberg, suggesting that companies should strive to strike a balance between both perspectives. “It’s one thing to say we want to be welcoming and make a good environment for everyone, and I think it’s another to basically say that ‘masculinity is bad,'” he said. “And I just think we kind of swung culturally to that part of the spectrum. … It’s like, no.
