17-year-old prodigy graduates with master's degree in computer science: 'I am proud of myself'

A Pittsburgh-area teenager who's at the right age to earn a high school diploma instead recently walked across the stage to accept another diploma: a master's degree in computer science. On Saturday‚ 17-year-old Raja &;quot;RJ&;quot; Krishnaswamy graduated with a master's degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed the master's program in one year‚ having just graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science from Pitt last spring as part of what he called a &;quot;BS/MS program&;quot; at the school. In fact‚ Krishnaswamy has two other college degrees under his belt as well: an associate degree in mathematics and another in software economics from the Community College of Allegheny County. He first enrolled at CCAC at age 9‚ when most kids are in the fourth or fifth grade.&;quot;College classes are fun‚&;quot; he told Pittsburgh magazine in 2017. &;quot; They’re thought-provoking.&;quot;Krishnaswamy showed a strong intellectual aptitude at an early age — a very early age. He reportedly began singing the alphabet song when he was just 8 months old‚ reading the &;quot;Harry Potter&;quot; book series at age 3‚ and solving algebra problems a couple of years after that.&;quot; His Christmas list had 30 books on different mathematic topics‚&;quot; recalled Krishnaswamy's proud father‚ whose name is also Raja Krishnaswamy. &;quot; His list was this big‚ and most of them were books‚ so that's what he wants.&;quot;Still‚ the master's program at Pitt wasn't easy. RJ Krishnaswamy noted that‚ like almost all master's students‚ he &;quot;had to defend a thesis.&;quot; &;quot; It's been hard work‚&;quot; he said.Though Krishnaswamy has not decided what he'll do next‚ he did apply for a doctoral program at Pitt‚ and at least one of his professors there certainly believes Krishnaswamy has even more academic potential in store. &;quot; On to publications&;#33;&;quot; said Daniel Mosse‚ a professor of computer science.Someday‚ Krishnaswamy hopes to become a software programmer like his father. But for now‚ he's enjoying his manifold accomplishments.&;quot;I am proud of myself‚&;quot; he said following graduation last year. &;quot; It was just awesome&;#33;&;quot;Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Dem lawmaker urges return of Trump-era border policies: 'US does not have operational control of the southern border'

Democratic Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez from Washington stated in a recent interview with NPR that there is an &;quot;urgency&;quot; for the Biden administration to revive Trump-era border policies.Gluesenkamp Perez and a group of other &;quot;self-described centrist Democrats&;quot; are demanding that the federal government do more to tackle the crisis at the southern border‚ the news outlet reported.During a Monday interview with NPR's A Martinez‚ Gluesenkamp Perez said that Biden needs to bring back Title 42 and fully utilize the &;quot;remain in Mexico&;quot; program. She noted that &;quot;one of the fundamental mistakes around immigration&;quot; has been &;quot;to debate whether or not an immigration policy is … motivated by racial animus.&;quot; &;quot;By the way‚ I think a lot of them are‚ but a lot of people in rural and working-class communities like mine‚ we come from communities that have been hollowed out by fentanyl‚ and so we're watching our cousins‚ our neighbors‚ our coworkers overdose and die‚ and we are demanding operational control of the southern border. That can't wait for a perfect immigration policy to come along‚&;quot; Gluesenkamp Perez told NPR.She added that it is not &;quot;a question of stemming immigration‚&;quot; claiming that &;quot;immigration itself is not the problem.&;quot;&;quot; The problem is that the U.S. does not have operational control of the southern border‚ and so a lot of Americans‚ a lot of American politicians have had this real focus on the very visceral images of the humanitarian crisis of the southern border‚ but what they're not seeing is what it's like to live in a country that is being run by a cartel‚&;quot; Gluesenkamp Perez continued. The Washington lawmaker called on Biden &;quot;to exercise his existing authority under remain in Mexico.&;quot; Gluesenkamp Perez also urged Congress to give Biden &;quot;back the presidential expulsion authority under Title 42.&;quot; She argued that the &;quot;unsecured border&;quot; impacts American communities and is‚ therefore‚ not a partisan issue. Gluesenkamp Perez told NPR that she believes &;quot;operational control&;quot; of the southern border is &;quot;a lot more achievable in the near term‚&;quot; noting immigration policy is &;quot;very‚ very difficult.&;quot;&;quot;I voted to fund Border Patrol to have a higher staffing level‚ being able to know who is coming in and out of our country‚ and it's not just about racial animus. It's about having a predictable‚ level playing field that reflects the values of our country‚&;quot; she added. &;quot;[M]y job is to depoliticize. You've got to take some of the ammunition and the fuel out of it and say‚ 'what are the constituent parts that we agree on&;#63;' Because it becomes a choice‚ like‚ do you want the cartels to have control‚ or do you want our system of laws to have that&;#63; Those are the choices at hand.&;quot;Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. AstraZeneca vindicates skeptics with admission that its COVID-19 vaccine can cause blood clots

The British-Swedish pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has finally admitted that its COVID-19 vaccine can cause bloodclots. While there were plenty of indications and fatalities over the years to suggest as much‚ the company and so-called experts around the world long downplayed the causal link along with critics' concerns. Clot shot The Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was a viral vector vaccine developed in the United Kingdom‚ which used a transmogrified version of a chimpanzee adenovirus. The shot was approved for use in the U.K. in December 2020 and later approved by the World Health Organization. It was not rolled out at the outset in the U.S.‚ although the Biden administration did agree to share up to 60 million doses with other nations. By January 2022‚ the vaccine had been injected globally more than 2.5 billion times. More than 20 countries temporarily took AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine off the market in March 2021 following mounting reports of abnormal bleeding‚ low blood platelets‚ blood clots‚ and sudden deaths among various recipients. Some agencies had been caught off guard as blood clotting was not an advertised side effect of the vaccine. Reuters indicated that Australia's Federal Office for Safety in Health Care‚ for instance‚ was surprised when a 49-year-old nurse died from &;quot;severe coagulation disorders&;quot; after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine. USA Today indicated that some of the cases that raised red flags in 2021 involved blood clots in the lungs‚ the legs‚ throughout the blood‚ and in the brain. German and Nordic researchers concluded that some vaccine recipients were developing a clotting disorder that produced antibodies that activated platelets and led to clots‚ reported the New York Times. What was then dubbed &;quot;vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia&;quot; was believed to harm one in 100‚000 recipients. As a point of contrast‚ for patients under 30‚ the vaccine would prevent only 0.8 in 100‚000 from going to the hospital with COVID‚ according to the Telegraph. AstraZeneca repeatedly denied causation‚ noting in a March 14‚ 2021‚ statement that a careful review showed &;quot;no evidence of an increased risk of pulmonary embolism‚ deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or thrombocytopenia‚ in any defined age group‚ gender‚ batch or in any particular country.&;quot; AstraZeneca added that the &;quot;available evidence does not confirm that the vaccine is the cause [of the clots].&;quot; Despite an alarming number of apparent victims‚ various health organizations‚ including the European Medicines Agency‚ suggested that &;quot;the vaccine's benefits continue to outweigh its risks.&;quot; Multiple European countries resumed AstraZeneca vaccinations in late March after the European Medicine Agency claimed it was &;quot;safe and effective.&;quot; The World Health Organization doubled down in June 2022‚ claiming AstraZeneca was &;quot;safe and effective for individuals aged 18 and above‚&;quot; reported the BBC. The cry of the so-called experts The temporary caution exercised by some European nations was criticized by American medical professionals such as Paul Offit‚ director of the Vaccine Education Center and an infectious disease specialist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia‚ USA Today reported at the time. &;quot; While it's easy to scare people‚ it's very hard to unscare them‚&;quot; said Offit. &;quot; It creates the perception that these vaccines are dangerous.&;quot; Offit further suggested that the &;quot;only way out of this pandemic is by vaccination‚ and if we make people reluctant to be vaccinated‚ we're going to have a hard time getting out of this pandemic.&;quot; &;quot;Unless there is an unusually high rate of blood clots among people receiving a particular vaccine‚ I just think it's quite dangerous to draw these kind of conclusions of causality without knowing‚&;quot; Akiko Iwasaki‚ an epidemiologist at Yale University‚ said in March 2021. Daniel Salmon of Johns Hopkins' Institute for Vaccine Safety told the New York Times that vaccines had not been shown to cause blood clots. Peter Hotez‚ a cable news vaccine promoter and the founding dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine‚ claimed‚ &;quot;By unnecessarily suspending the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine‚ the European countries may have created a new problem.&;quot; Hotez suggested that the &;quot;vaccine ecosystem is fragile‚ and it doesn't take a lot to get a vaccine voted off the island.&;quot; Legal action Jamie Scott‚ a father of two‚ was left with a permanent brain injury after developing a blood clot and bleed on his brain following his AstraZeneca vaccination in April 2021. On three occasions‚ his wife was told by hospital staff that Scott was going to die. Having so far survived his injury‚ Scott — certain the vaccine was &;quot;defective&;quot; — is now seeking to hold AstraZeneca accountable‚ reported the Telegraph. Scott sued the company last year. At least 51 other alleged vaccine victims have since followed his lead‚ launching a group action under section 2 of the British Consumer Protection Act of 1987. Among the plaintiffs are the widower and two young children of Alpa Tailor‚ a 35-year-old who died after receiving the shot. A coroner determined in September 2021 that the mother of two had died from blood clots on her brain. She began suffering stroke-like symptoms a week after her first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine‚ reported the Daily Mail. In the event that AstraZeneca loses in court‚ it could be forking over around $100 million in compensation. The British government will‚ however‚ underwrite the company's legal bills. The admission AstraZeneca told Scott's lawyers in March 2023‚ &;quot; We do not accept that [thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome] is caused by the vaccine at a generic level.&;quot; However‚ the Telegraph noted that in a legal document submitted in February to the High Court of Justice in the U.K.‚ the company noted‚ &;quot; It is admitted that the AZ vaccine can‚ in very rare cases‚ cause TTS. The causal mechanism is not known.&;quot; After confirming victims' suspicions‚ the company attempted to cast doubt on whether the plaintiffs were themselves victims of such &;quot;very rare cases‚&;quot; writing‚ &;quot;TTS can also occur in the absence of the AZ vaccine (or any vaccine). Causation in any individual case will be a matter for expert evidence.&;quot; According to the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences‚ &;quot;very rare&;quot; side effects are those that occur in less than one in 10‚000 cases‚ reported the Independent. The company has reportedly also attempted to cover itself‚ claiming that the product information concerning the AstraZeneca vaccine was updated in April 2021 to note &;quot;the possibility that the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is capable‚ in very rare cases‚ of being a trigger&;quot; for TTS. Kate Scott‚ the first plaintiff's wife‚ told the Telegraph‚ &;quot; The medical world has acknowledged for a long time that VITT was caused by the vaccine. It's only AstraZeneca who have questioned whether Jamie’s condition was caused by the jab.&;quot; &;quot; It's taken three years for this admission to come. It's progress‚ but we would like to see more from them and the Government. It's time for things to move more quickly‚&;quot; said the victim's wife. &;quot; We need an apology‚ fair compensation for our family and other families who have been affected. We have the truth on our side‚ and we are not going to give up.&;quot; Sarah Moore‚ a partner with the law firm representing the group action‚ said in a statement‚ &;quot; It has taken AstraZeneca a year to formally admit that their vaccine has caused this harm‚ when this was a fact widely accepted by the clinical community since the end of 2021: In that context‚ regrettably it seems that AstraZeneca‚ the Government and their lawyers are more keen to play strategic games and run up legal feels than to engage seriously with the devastating impact that the vaccine has had upon our clients' lives.&;quot; Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Will Trump get full presidential immunity&;#63; Law expert explains

Former President Donald Trump is in the midst of multiple legal battles‚ but everything could change if the Supreme Court rules that he has full presidential immunity. “The Court is a lot more concerned about the presidency than about Trump‚” National Review contributing author Andrew McCarthy tells Glenn Beck. “It’s an important point to make because a lot of the coverage has been this hysteria over whether the Trump-packed Supreme Court is in the tank for him and they’re going to get rid of Jack Smith’s prosecution‚” McCarthy says. “I don’t think that’s going to happen at all.” Rather‚ McCarthy believes that the court will send the case back to the trial judge in Washington “with instructions to sort out what things in the indictment against Trump are what you would call &;quot;official acts&;quot; that might arguably be immune from prosecution” and “what are private acts or private wrongs that he would not have immunity for.” However‚ according to McCarthy‚ Trump’s lawyer has admitted that a lot of conduct charged in the indictment is considered private conduct that wouldn’t fall under an immunity claim. “What are some of the acts that could fall under private&;#63;” Glenn asks‚ adding‚ “and what are the acts that are the president and you don’t prosecute&;#63;” One of the “solid examples” McCarthy uses is that “Trump’s lawyer conceded that if Trump made a private scheme with private lawyers to get slates of electors designated for him and to supply documents to the Congress suggesting that they were the authentic‚ actual slate of electors designated by a state‚ that would be private conduct because it’s purely office-seeking.” “On the other hand‚” McCarthy explains‚ “there’s an allegation in the indictment that Trump tried to use the Justice Department to signal to states that there were serious concerns about fraud and considered both removing the attorney general when he got push back and considered sending a letter that they never sent from the Justice Department to the state of Georgia to tell them that they needed to do more scrutiny over what happened in the popular election.” “Trump argues very strongly‚ and I think the court will probably go along with this‚ that is the president’s control over the Justice Department‚” he says. Tomb Raider developers uncensor content‚ claim it was removed by accident: 'This has been resolved'

Almost two weeks after fans noticed that a portion of a Tomb Raider video game was removed‚ developers have since reinstated the content but claimed it was removed by accident.Aspyr Media Inc.‚ a subsidiary of gaming giant Embracer Group‚ admitted to fans of the series that it was behind the removal of images in Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artefact.Previously‚ gamers noticed that developers had removed polygonal photos of its main character‚ Lara Croft‚ lying in provocative poses from the background of one of its environments. The original game's graphics made the images barely discernable‚ but in the remastered version‚ the animated posters were clear. This came more than two months after the release of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered‚ which came out on February 14‚ 2024.Fans were doubly mad at the fact that the remastered games were supposed to be presented in their original form‚ or so a disclaimer at the beginning of the games said.&;quot; The games in this collection contain offensive depictions of people and cultures rooted in racial and ethnic prejudices. These stereotypes are deeply harmful‚ inexcusable‚ and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics‚&;quot; a prompt in the game read.Aspyr Media chalked the removal of the images up to textural and graphical updates which caused an error.&;quot;Thank you to the Tomb Raider community for your continued feedback and support for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft‚&;quot; an employee named Daniel wrote.&;quot; In the recently released Patch 2‚ we made several texture and graphical updates to the HD version. As part of these updates‚ the posters in Sleeping With The Fishes (The Lost Artifact) were inadvertently removed in the HD version of the game. This has been resolved and these textures will be restored in Patch 3‚&;quot; he added. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered's second update removed pinup posters of Lara in Tomb Raider III. Updates should never be used to retroactively censor games‚ it's a form of theft. Any company that engages in this bait &; switch behavior should go bankrupt. — (@) Many fans were thankful for the decision‚ but some called the believability of Aspyr's claim into question.&;quot;I have a hard time in this day and age believing that the change was inadvertent but it's certainly possible. Thank you for restoring them‚ either way. My faith in Aspyr is restored. My only suggestion is to get the word out quicker should something like this happen again‚&;quot; one fan stated on X. @AspyrMedia I have a hard time in this day and age believing that the change was inadvertent but it's certainly possible.\n\nThank you for restoring them‚ either way. My faith in Aspyr is restored. My only suggestion is to get the word out quicker should something like this happen again. — (@) &;quot;I don't believe the change was 'inadvertent‚' but good for you listening to fans and fixing the poor decision‚&;quot; another user wrote.I don't believe the change was &;quot;inadvertent‚&;quot; but good for you listening to fans and fixing the poor decision.— FedUpMajority (@FedUpMajority) April 26‚ 2024 Yet another user pointed out that there remained another change in the game that has mostly gone ignored. A enemy character in the game who had a topless woman on the back of his jacket was shown to have it covered with a bikini in the new version.Credibility of the franchise has wavered among fans as Tomb Raider has suffered from horrible PR in early 2024. In addition to the alleged censorship and content warnings‚ a licensed board game for Tomb Raider also faced huge criticisms for saying that the series' main character‚ Lara Croft‚ was a &;quot;colonialist&;quot; while the games consisted of out-of-date and offensive themes related to stealing.Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Father of Christian singer Mandisa shares insight about his daughter's tragic sudden death: 'They found her on the floor'

The father of Christian singer Mandisa‚ who suddenly died this month‚ is providing new insight into his daughter's tragic end.The Grammy-award winning singer‚ whose solo career began after appearing on &;quot;American Idol‚&;quot; was found dead inside her Nashville-area home on April 18. Last week‚ the Franklin Police Department said the investigation into Mandisa's death was ongoing and confirmed there was &;quot;no indication the death was the result of suspicious or criminal activity.&;quot; On Saturday‚ Mandisa's friends and family gathered at Brentwood Baptist Church to celebrate her life. During the service‚ Mandisa's father‚ John Hundley‚ revealed that he has spoken with a detective about what he believes happened to his daughter‚ and that investigator &;quot;did not disagree with me.&;quot;&;quot; Here's what I think happened‚&;quot; Hundley began.&;quot;Mandisa fell down in her bedroom. They found her on the floor‚&;quot; he explained. &;quot; If you look from the rear of her bed‚ she was laying on the left side. It’s clear that's where she was laying‚ there was a couple of big rugs there and some clothes. On the right side of the bed‚ front‚ was this nightstand‚ and I found her phone on the right side of the bed. There was no way for Mandisa to get around the bed‚ go out there‚ and get a phone to call for help.&;quot; Mandisa's Father Tells What Led To Her Death During Her Celebration of Life | April 27‚ 2024 www.youtube.com An emotional Hundley then shut down speculation about Mandisa's death and provided insight into her health in the months leading up to her death.&;quot; She did not harm herself‚&;quot; he said. &;quot; As she said‚ Mandisa loved the Lord‚ and the Lord loved Mandisa.&;quot; There's one thing you may not have known: She told me some time ago that she had gotten COVID-19‚ and she had been weak trying to get over that. But she was trying to press through‚&;quot; he explained. Earlier in his remarks‚ Hundley said police will say more about Mandisa's death in the coming weeks. The Tennessee Department of Health‚ meanwhile‚ said a full autopsy report would be released sometime in the next 60-90 says‚ the Tennessean reported.Like Blaze News&;#63; Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. School board 'punished' middle school girls who protested biological male competing against them at track meet: Complaint

A West Virginia school board &;quot;punished&;quot; a group of middle school girls who protested a biological male competing against them at a track meet earlier this month‚ according to a legal complaint. What's the background&;#63; Cellphone video showed girls from Lincoln Middle School staging a protest in the shot put ring at the Harrison County Middle School Championships on April 18; one by one‚ they stepped into the ring and then quickly stepped out without making attempts. — (@) While the video in the post from female athlete advocate Riley Gaines appears to show six separate protests by Lincoln girls in the shot put ring‚ AthleticNet indicated that five Lincoln girls posted &;quot;ND&;quot; (no distance) in the finals. Gaines also wrote that five girls refused to participate. Blaze News reported that the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals just days prior to the meet ruled in a 2-1 decision that a West Virginia law requiring every student athlete to participate in accordance with their biological sex violates the Title IX rights of Becky Pepper-Jackson — the student against whom the girls protested. Pepper-Jackson — a biological male — has been living as a female and taking puberty blockers for years. AthleticNet said Pepper-Jackson of Bridgeport won the shot put final at the meet with a toss of 32 feet‚ 9 inches‚ easily besting the second-place finisher by more than three feet. What happened next&;#63;Parents of four of the five protesting girls filed the legal complaint against the Harrison County Board of Education. The complaint states the girls attended an April 24 press conference addressing their protest. Attendees included Gaines and state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Auditor J.B. McCuskey‚ along with several Republicans from the state Senate and House of Delegates‚ the complaint states. The complaint also states that the next day — Thursday — the father of one of the girls &;quot;spoke with Lincoln Middle School principal Lori Scott‚&;quot; who told him that the girls who protested &;quot;would not be permitted to compete in a scheduled track and field meet on April 27‚ 2024.&;quot; The complaint also states that a father of another girl spoke with coach Dawn Riestenberg‚ who &;quot;informed him that his daughter would not be allowed to participate in the scheduled track and field meet on April 27.&;quot; The complaint adds that Riestenberg told the dad that the girls were barred from the meet because it was her job “to score points for the track team‚” which the complaint says correlates to &;quot;the minor student athletes’ protest and subsequent appearance at a press conference to the decision to ban them from competition.&;quot; The complaint states that the protesting girls &;quot;are being punished&;quot; by the school board &;quot;for exercising their rights to freedom of speech and expression under the Constitution of West Virginia.&;quot; The complaint was filed Friday — the day before the April 27 meet from which the girls allegedly were barred — and seeks no monetary damages‚ only &;quot;injunctive relief.&;quot; State Attorney General Morrisey filed an amicus brief Friday in support of the parents' complaint. “The only thing this decision does is teach these children to keep their mouths shut and not disagree with what they saw as unfairness‚” Morrisey said in a news release‚ according to WBOY-TV. “That is outrageous and it tramples these students’ rights to freedom of speech and expression.” Apparently‚ the complaint and even support from the state attorney general were not enough. AthleticNet records show that none of the Lincoln Middle School girls listed in the complaint took part in the shot put competition at the Mid Mountain 10 Championships on April 27. In addition‚ while it's been reported that the protesting girls were barred from competition for a longer period of time‚ all the girls in the complaint are listed on the shot put stat sheet from a Monday invitational meet. The school board on Tuesday didn't immediately reply to Blaze News' request for comment on the complaint.
