An Oregon high school track coach claimed the school district terminated his contract because he pushed for the state to change the laws around trans-identifying athletes. John Parks, head track and field coach at Lake Oswego High School just south of Portland, wrote a pair of letters to the executive director of the Oregon Student Activities Association and a state senator. Parks called for student sports in Oregon to follow the lead of other sports organizations like the International Olympic Committee that require hormone testing for trans-identifying athletes. “My proposal to encourage transgender participation is to offer an open division that is so named so it doesn’t identify or discriminate but offers an opportunity to participate,” Parks wrote. Parks said that part of his concern is for trans-identifying athletes themselves. “I want them to be able to participate where they’re not booed,” Parks told KATU, adding that he saw the crowd boo a trans-identifying athlete who won a girls’ event at the state championships. The Lake Oswego School District’s communications director said Parks is no longer employed at the district but did not give a reason, saying the district does not discuss personnel matters. Parks is appealing the school district’s decision to terminate his contract. “I’m going to fight now because I got wronged,” he told KATU. “I am … fighting for girls, I’m fighting for female sports, and I’m fighting that it be fair for everybody.” “When you come to championship events, these things involve scholarships, they involve things that they have an unfair advantage in at the highest level when it comes to physical things,” Parks said. “We’re not talking about political. This is not a political issue to me and never has been.” A petition to reinstate Parks as coach has already gathered more than 100 signatures. Riley Gaines, former college swimmer and women’s sports activist highlighted Parks’ situation in a social media post. “He’s taken his team to the state championship 3 years in a row,” she posted on X. “The problem is his stance was way too reasonable, so they ousted him.” Female athletes at high schools and colleges in several states have spoken out against competing against biological males, some arguing that they missed out on awards and scholarships after losing to their male competitors. High school girls have also been injured playing with trans-identifying males. Last year in North Carolina, a female high school volleyball player suffered severe trauma to her head and neck after a trans-identifying male player spiked a volleyball that hit her head.

A Kentucky court issued a preliminary injunction on the Biden administration’s rewrite of Title IX, putting a temporary stop to it in six states, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, West Virginia, and Indiana. In the district court conclusion it said the U.S. Department of Education will be restrained from “implementing, enacting, enforcing, or taking any action in any manner to enforce” the new regulations in those six states, Outkick noted. Biden’s recent rewrite of Title IX includes protection for transgender-identifying people — a policy that was originally enacted in 1972 to protect women and girls. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti released a statement about the decision, calling it a “big win.” “This is a big win for the Constitution and the people of Tennessee,” the statement read. “We fought hard to protect our constitutional separation of powers, which ensures that the people through their elected representatives are the only authority that can make new laws.” .@AGTennessee Jonathan Skrmetti Releases Statement as Federal Judge Blocks Biden Administration’s Attempt to Replace Title IX Language with Social Change Agenda: ➡️https://t.co/hxdxGm4LIu⁩ pic.twitter.com/fqKJxtUKhb — TN Attorney General (@AGTennessee) June 18, 2024 “If the rule we stopped had been allowed to go into effect on August 1 as scheduled, Tennessee schools and universities would have to let boys into girls’ locker rooms and other private spaces,” the statement added. “If the rule went into effect, our schools would have to punish teachers and students who declined to use someone’s preferred pronouns.” “These are profound changes to the law that the American people never agreed to,” the statement concluded. “This rule was a huge overreach by federal bureaucrats, and the Court was right to stop it.” Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares took to X on Monday, celebrating the injunction on what he called the “unlawful” move by the Biden administration. “I’m pleased to announce that a court has stopped the Biden Administration’s unlawful Title IX regulations from going into effect in Virginia,” Miyares wrote.  “The Biden Administration’s latest power grab would jeopardize half a century of landmark protections for women, violate the First Amendment, and ignore the clear text of the Title IX law passed by Congress,” he added. “The rule should have never been issued in the first place.” Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin praised Miyares for leading the charge. “Virginians saw the rewriting of Title IX for what it was — an attempt to leverage federal tax dollars to impose a harmful agenda on parents and families,” Youngkin wrote. “I applaud [JasonMiyaresVA] for leading the charge and confronting the Biden administration’s obvious executive overreach.” Former collegiate swimmer and outspoken activist for female sports Riley Gaines posted about the court’s conclusion and wrote, “Great news! Biden’s illegal rewrite of Title IX won’t go into effect in TN, KY, VA, WV, OH, & IN.” “A federal court granted an injunction for the Title IX lawsuit filed by mentioned states,” Gaines added. “This is a huge win. The gender ideology house of cards is falling fast.” The Biden administration’s provision “clarifies that sex discrimination includes discrimination based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.” The revision will force any K-12 school or higher education institution receiving federal funding to allow boys who identify as girls to use girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, and housing accommodations, while allowing girls who identify as boys to use boys’ facilities. If people are “born queer,” the explosion in young people identifying as transgender simply wouldn’t be happening. And it’s clear that identification is encouraged by social conditioning. As journalist Abigail Shrier writes in “Irreversible Damage,” “Those who teach gender ideology do not make adolescents transgender. They simply fill kids’ heads with gender options and ideology. Then, when the adolescents do experience a crisis, the heroic solution readily bobs to mind.” The multiple-hundred-fold increase in children seeking transgender mutilation coinciding with the saturation of culture in queer imagery and ideology indicates that people aren’t born queer — a piece of evidence that erases any claim to legal privileges for immutable characteristics. The survival of Western culture depends on strong natural families and government structures that protect rather than destroy those families. In homes and institutions like schools whose authority descends from homes, culture is passed on to children authoritatively in the form of normative moral judgments, loyalties, and distinctions. When one learns both at home and in school to restrain one’s passions, it frees the soul to participate in self-government through rational thought and dialogue: logic, argumentation, and debate. Sexual politics makes war against Western culture by attacking its origins in the father-headed household. Identity politics is an assault against the families who discipline their sexual relations within lifelong monogamous relationships. This is what sexual revolutionaries mean by their ubiquitous call for “smashing the patriarchy.” Sexual politics’ true goal is not simply to grant government privileges to a tiny percentage of Americans who claimed discrimination — but who could have found workarounds such as powers of attorney to facilitate hospital visits between homosexual couples, or pro bono lawyers to write their wills and defend them in court. The goal was to destroy organic families as a mediating social institution that naturally limits government. The queer activist Masha Gessen made this explicit at a writer’s festival in 2012. “It’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist,” Gessen said, voicing the stance of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, and the Cultural Marxist Frankfurt School to loud applause. “…Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we’re going to do with marriage when we get there. Because we lie that the institution of marriage is not going to change. And that is a lie. The institution of marriage is going to change — and it should change and, again, I don’t think it should exist.” Queer theorists and practitioners aren’t kidding that they want a Marxist cultural revolution. They have openly proclaimed that everywhere from street protests to “academic” journals for 100 years. This revolution is already well underway in far-left states such as California, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York.
