This April Fools’ Day iMac travel bag rules‚ and I hope Waterfield actually makes it

It's April Fools Day so‚ as we have done many years before this one‚ we must all face the deluge of technology companies releasing a "totally real" product today. However‚ within the cringeworthy press releases‚ there was one Apple-focused product that I actually thought‚ "This should be real." Waterfield Designs makes a lot of high-end cases and bags for all kinds of technology products. From arguably the best travel case for AirPods Max‚ tons of backpacks and bags for your laptop‚ and even some cases for gaming products like the Nintendo Switch‚ they've solidified themselves as a premium case maker. Continue reading... The post This April Fools’ Day iMac travel bag rules‚ and I hope Waterfield actually makes it appeared first on BGR. I typically don’t recommend AirPods 3‚ but today is a different story

I typically don’t recommend AirPods 3‚ but today is a different story

Most of the time‚ I don't recommend AirPods 3 to BGR readers. There are a few different reasons‚ but it pretty much boils down to the comparison between Apple's AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 3. They both have similar designs‚ but AirPods Pro 2 offer better sound quality and active noise cancelling. And since AirPods Pro 2 are always discounted and AirPods 3 are rarely on sale‚ spending $20-$30 extra on the Pro model is a no-brainer. Today‚ however‚ it's a different story. AirPods 3 are currently on sale for $149.99‚ which matches the lowest price of the season so far. They're typically priced at $169 or $179 depending on which charging case you want. Since AirPods Pro 2 are always on sale for around $199‚ that's not enough of a difference. Right now‚ however‚ you can save $50 by opting for AirPods 3 over AirPods Pro 2. If you don't care about active noise cancelling‚ you should definitely pick up a pair. Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds‚ Bluetooth Headphones‚ Personalized Spatial Au… Price: $149.99 (reg. $169) You Save: $20.00 (12%) Buy Now Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds with USB-C Charging‚ Up to 2X More Active… Price: $199 (reg. $249) Buy Now Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds‚ Bluetooth Headphones with Lightning Charging… Price: $99 (reg. $129) You Save: $30.00 (23%) Buy Now Apple AirPods Max Wireless Over-Ear Headphones‚ Active Noise Cancelling‚ Transparency Mode‚ Per… Price: $479 (reg. $549) You Save: $70.00 (13%) Buy Now BGR's comprehensive guide on the best AirPods deals keeps tabs on all of the deepest discounts on Apple headphones. That includes all of Apple's wireless earphones as well as AirPods Max‚ the first and only over-ear headphones to fall under the AirPods brand. But there's one model that has been suspiciously absent from my roundup so far in 2024. I am of course referring to AirPods 3‚ which haven't gone on sale very often this year. In fact‚ they've been completely out of stock at many retailers. Not only are AirPods 3 back in stock today‚ but they're also on sale with an 11% discount for the first time this season. That drops Apple's third-generation AirPods to $149.99‚ which is the lowest price I've seen in quite a while. Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) Wireless Ear Buds‚ Bluetooth Headphones‚ Personalized Spatial Au… Price: $149.00 You Save: $20.00 (12%) Buy Now As BGR reviewer Christian de Looper noted in his extensive AirPods 3 review‚ Apple's newest mid-range model offers numerous big upgrades compared to AirPods 2. The second-generation model is also still in Apple's AirPods lineup‚ mind you‚ and it's on sale right now for $99. AirPods 3 have a completely new design compared to AirPods 2. They have shorter stems and larger earbuds. Plus‚ AirPods 3 have silicone tips like Apple's AirPods Pro. Third-generation AirPods don't offer active noise cancelling‚ but they do isolate sound thanks to the rubber tips. Other features include sweat and water resistance‚ force sensors on the stems for playback and call controls‚ and up to 30 hours of total listening time thanks to the charging case. The only thing to note is that there are two versions of Apple's AirPods 3. One comes with a wireless charging case‚ but the model currently on sale has a Lightning charging case. If you'd prefer the model with a MagSafe Charging Case‚ you can pick up a pair of renewed AirPods 3 for as little as $110 depending on what kind of condition you want them in (excellent‚ good‚ or acceptable). This model retails for $179‚ so that's a great price. Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) (Renewed) Price: $110.00 You Save: $14.00 (11%) Buy Now In addition to AirPods 3‚ I'll note that AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C are also currently on sale with a big discount. At $199‚ they're a solid value. Anything under $200 for Apple's latest noise-cancelling earphones is an excellent deal. OpenAI’s latest announcement is its most dangerous AI innovation yet

When Sam Altman was asked about the GPT-5 upgrade for ChatGPT‚ the CEO said OpenAI had other products to release before then. The text-to-video Sora service might be one of them‚ a product that OpenAI will release publicly this year. We already knew about Sora when Altman addressed those GPT-5 questions. What we weren't familiar with was the new Voice Engine AI tool that OpenAI announced. It's an AI program that lets you clone a voice with a sample that's just 15 seconds long. That's an incredible achievement with seemingly limitless utility. For example‚ people losing their voice might use it to talk to others in their regular voice. Movie studios could rely on Voice Engine to dub films and TV shows using the actor's actual voice. While all that sounds great‚ Voice Engine might also do a lot of harm once it's released publicly‚ and I see no way OpenAI can prevent abuse. Continue reading... This might be the full list of iPhone and iPad models with iOS 18 compatibility

Apple's new iOS 18 update should be previewed on June 10‚ when Apple kicks off WWDC 2024. There‚ the company will reveal which iPhone and iPad models are compatible with the latest updates. While we have previously heard which models could work with the future generation of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18‚ this might be the final answer before Apple confirms it in June. This data comes from a leaker who usually reveals upcoming builds of Apple's operating system updates. That said‚ after iOS 17 dropped support for several iPhone models‚ this leaker believes iOS 18 might support all the current iPhone versions available‚ which include: iPhone XR‚ XS‚ and XS Max iPhone 11 iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max iPhone SE (2nd gen) iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max iPhone SE (3rd gen) iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max On the other hand‚ iPadOS 18 won't be as kind with iPad models‚ as Apple is apparently planning to kill the iPad 6‚ 2nd-gen iPad Pro‚ the first 10.5-inch iPad Pro but keep support for iPad 7. With that‚ these are the possible models compatible with iPadOS 18. iPad Pro (2018 or newer) iPad Air 3 or newer iPad mini 5 or newer iPad 7 gen or newer While Apple might still support several older iPhone and iPad models‚ this doesn't mean all iOS 18 features will work with all devices. For iOS 17‚ Apple offered several features exclusive to iPhone 12 or newer models. Since iOS 18 is expected to be packed with several AI features‚ they will likely be reserved for the latest phones. In addition‚ Apple killing iPad 6 can make its system more secure‚ as earlier devices had some unpatchable flaws on the chip that were fixed with newer versions of Apple processors. Below‚ you can learn everything we know about iOS 18‚ its supported iPhone models‚ and more. Google will destroy browsing data collected from Chrome’s Incognito mode

In order to settle a 2020 lawsuit accusing Google of lying to users about tracking and collecting their data in Chrome's Incognito mode‚ the company agreed to delete and remediate billions of data records collected from private browsing sessions. According to the proposed settlement in Brown v. Google‚ deleting troves of data is just one of several conditions. Going forward‚ Google will rewrite its disclosures to make it more clear that the company collects private browsing data by updating its Privacy Policy and on the Incognito mode splash screen‚ some of which has already been implemented. Other concessions include Chrome blocking third-party cookies by default in Incognito mode and the deletion of private browsing detection bits uncovered by users. Unlike the recent Verizon settlement‚ Chrome users aren't entitled to any money directly from Google‚ but class members still retain the right to sue Google for damages individually. The settlement motion also suggests that the value of relief is worth over $5 billion. Although Chrome users won't receive any checks in the mail‚ the user data Google is deleting as a result of the settlement is likely worth a great deal to the company. Unsurprisingly‚ Google continues to claim that the lawsuit was without merit. "We are pleased to settle this lawsuit‚ which we always believed was meritless‚" Google spokesman José Castañeda said in a statement. "We are happy to delete old technical data that was never associated with an individual and was never used for any form of personalization." This hidden iMessage emoji trick blew my mind

When it comes to texting‚ there are probably two types of messages one can receive: messages you'll struggle to find the right emoji for‚ or messages where a single emoji isn't enough to quickly convey your reaction. The latter is the easiest to fix. All you have to do is put all those emoji reactions one after the other. But what if you could stack them on top of each other? That's the awesome iMessage emoji feature that everyone should know about. And I say that as a longtime iPhone user whose job is to know all the secrets each iOS release has to deliver. Well‚ I never thought of this one‚ combining multiple emojis to provide the perfect reaction. But it turns out it's something that you can do on the iPhone without any third-party apps.
