Back again with more Atari Computer game archeology.  This time we tackle a countdown of the shmups and arcade shooters on the Atari 8bit computers in 1982 These do not all satisfy the neo description of SHMUP, so to not split hairs, I am just calling these all arcade style shooters for lack of a better definition. What they do represent is the time Atari Computers had the home game industry by the balls. Warner should have and could have harnessed this to avoid the video game crash and continue on  in the industry today, but instead, they focused on anemic 2600 arcade ports and the ill fated 5200.  This a top 40 count down, well actually 45 games that I have split into sections. Before each section I’ll explain it in a little intro and then the games will play ASMR style until the next section First up are the honorable mentions. These 5 games represent 5200 games that were converted to the Atari 8bit by Glenn the 5200 man, two of which are improvements in 1981 Atari 8bit versions of the same game. The others are games that didn’t fit in the other categories but I wanted them to be in this video some place.  The last category will be my absolute favorite Top 10, so wait to write your angry comments until you have seen the whole video, and THEN tell me how much I suck at this.
