Habba Drops The Hammer, Charges US Rep. McIver

Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba just charged Rep. LaMonica McIver. McIver faces Title 18 counts for assaulting and impeding law enforcement. But she says she didn’t do nothing. This is all a political, she says. Though video captured at the scene tells a different story. The incident occurred outside Delaney Hall earlier this month. Charges against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka were dismissed. Both moves were announced in a post and letter on X Monday. FA—FO initiated pic.twitter.com/e7bHilZ0yf — Diligent Denizen (@DiligentDenizen) May 20, 2025 Fox News reports: Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba is charging Rep. LaMonica McIver for her alleged misconduct toward law enforcement in front of Delaney Hall earlier this month, but she is dismissing the trespassing charge against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. “Today my office has charged Congresswoman McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement,” Habba said in a post on X on Monday. In a letter posted with the comment, Habba announced that after extensive consideration, she was dismissing charges against Baraka. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was charged with class C misdemeanor trespassing at the facility, which is privately operated by the GEO Group, last week, and he had his first court appearance on Thursday, which Habba personally attended. “We believe that I was targeted in this,” Baraka said outside the courtroom after his appearance. Baraka and three congressional lawmakers – McIver, Robert Menendez Jr., and Bonnie Watson Coleman were outside the ICE facility last week with a group of protesters when the gates opened to allow an ICE bus in. All four officials then allegedly rushed through the gates past security, according to officials from the Department of Homeland Security. “If it was a typical U.S. citizen, and they tried to storm into a detention facility that’s housing dangerous criminals or any person at all, they would be arrested,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told “Fox News Live” host Kevin Corke Saturday. “Just because you are a member of Congress or just because you’re a public official, does not mean you are above the law. However, McIver and others allege that “ICE created chaos” and instigated the situation. BUSTED: 8,000+ Govt Credit Card Crimes Are Getting Exposed, Gambling, Online Dating, Timeshares

More fraud coming to light! Only this time it’s not from DOGE. The DoD Inspector General flagged over 8,000 suspicious government card transactions. Imagine that. If you used your debt card 1 time a day, it would take you nearly 22 years to rack up 8,000 transactions. From online dating to marijuana, cruise lines, gambling, and even fortune telling. You name it. Nothing was off limits. That fortune teller is pretty hilarious to me. “Mentalo, can you tell me if I’ll ever get caught visiting you on the taxpayer’s dime?”  “Hmmm, my sources from beyond the grave say…no.” Ha! House Oversight is demanding answers on this obvious fraud and abuse. Looks like DOGE’s got serious competition in the fraud-exposing arena. Oh, and wigs. They used your money to buy wigs. RedState reports: The DOGE just keeps on winning for the taxpayers. And they aren’t just uncovering wasteful spending; they are rooting out fraud, as well. But the DOGE isn’t the only group out there seeking out waste and fraud in government. Government waste is rampant in Washington these days, but deliberate fraud and abuse of government credit cards is, if anything, worse than simple waste; fraud is a greater level of corruption, in which there is a deliberate decision made to abuse government spending authority. That is what the Department of Defense Inspector General has found: Over 8,000 questionable transactions on government credit cards – and the House Oversight Committee is demanding answers. If you’ll allow me a moment’s speculation: It’s a vanishingly small chance that even one of these transactions was for legitimate purposes. These people were partying on the taxpayers’ dime, and while Rep. Comey and Senator Ernst are correct to demand answers, there also have to be severe consequences for any person found to be abusing a government credit card. Jail time would not come amiss. These people are defrauding the taxpayers. This is a system in desperate need of reform. Every federal employee’s need for a government credit card should be scrutinized. The DOD IG found nearly 8,000 HIGH-RISK transactions on government-issued credit cards. We are calling on GAO to provide a full audit of high-risk transactions, including: • Adult entertainment• Online dating• Gambling• Weed• Pyramid schemes• Massage parlors•… — Oversight Committee (@GOPoversight) May 19, 2025 The X post continues: Pyramid schemes Massage parlors Timeshares Here’s a few more items listed on a letter to Congress from James Comer: They used their government cards to go to record shops? This lady does a great job breaking down what the mainstream media says ‘isn’t a lot of money’ in regards to DOGE. Why are you folks upset with DOGE for exposing billions, yet you trust politicians who deceive you? A woman explained it clearly: To spend $1 billion, you’d have to spend $1,000 every day for 2,740 years—dating back to the fall of the Roman Empire—or, in an average 77-year… pic.twitter.com/W5tBqPBOos — American Victory Alliance (@TheAVAOnline) March 11, 2025

McIver Charged for Assaulting an Officer When Breaking Into ICE Jail

Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver is facing federal charges for assaulting a Department of Homeland Security officer, which can be seen on video. It took place as McIver and other lawmakers tried to break into the ICE detention facility in Newark. Specifically, McIver is charged with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for […] The post McIver Charged for Assaulting an Officer When Breaking Into ICE Jail appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Feds Charge New Jersey Democrat Over Clash With Agents At ICE Facility

On Monday, the Department of Justice announced that Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) has been charged in connection with a scuffle at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, earlier this month. “Today my office has charged Congresswoman McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement,” Acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba said in a post on X. McIver insists the case has been tainted by politics. ? Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, a Democrat running for New Jersey governor who claims the ICE site was opened improperly, was also present. At one point, there was a breach. ICE body-cam footage shows part of a confrontation between the New Jersey Democrats and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents. She even offered to personally give him a tour of Delaney Hall in the “spirit of public interest.” Yet the “dismissal against the mayor is not the end of this matter,” Habba said. “Congressional oversight is an important constitutional function and one that I fully support. However, that is not at issue in this case.” Habba, who previously served as President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and White House aide, said McIver had been charged because her alleged conduct “cannot be overlooked by the chief federal law enforcement official in the State of New Jersey, and it is my Constitutional obligation to ensure that our federal law enforcement is protected when executing their duties.” The move is sure to escalate animosity between Democrats and the Trump administration in the already-tense debate on illegal immigration and deportations. Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who warned last week a “red line” would be crossed if his colleagues involved in the incident were to be arrested by federal authorities or get sanctioned, said in a statement with other House Democrat leaders that the decision to charge McIver was “extreme, morally bankrupt and lacks any basis in law or fact” and they vowed to “respond vigorously in the days to come at a time, place and manner of our choosing.” McIver struck a defiant tone in response to being charged. “Earlier this month, I joined my colleagues to inspect the treatment of ICE detainees at Delaney Hall in my district. We were fulfilling our lawful oversight responsibilities, as members of Congress have done many times before, and our visit should have been peaceful and short. Instead, ICE agents created an unnecessary and unsafe confrontation when they chose to arrest Mayor Baraka,” McIver said in a statement. “The charges against me are purely political — they mischaracterize and distort my actions, and are meant to criminalize and deter legislative oversight,” she added. “This administration will never stop me from working for the people in our district and standing up for what is right. I am thankful for the outpouring of support I have received and I look forward to the truth being laid out clearly in court.” Habba said she “persistently made efforts to address these issues without bringing criminal charges and have given Representative McIver every opportunity to come to a resolution, but she has unfortunately declined.” She concluded: “No one is above the law — politicians or otherwise. It is the job of this office to uphold justice impartially, regardless of who you are. Now we will let the justice system work.” In a post on X, Fox News national correspondent Alexis McAdams reported that she was told McIver is facing several felony charges and faces possible time behind bars. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also issued a post on X concerning the situation. “After a thorough review of the video footage of Delaney Hall and a full investigation from HSI, the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey has made the determination to charge Congresswoman LaMonica McIver for assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers,” Noem said. “No one is above the law. If any person, regardless of political party, influence or status, assaults a law enforcement officer as we witnessed Congresswoman McIver do, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” she added. “We thank our brave ICE law enforcement officers for their service to this great nation.” DHS previously said two other House Democrats — New Jersey Reps. Bonnie Watson-Coleman and Rob Menendez — “stormed the gate and broke into” the facility in Newark that day. Menendez questioned how it was acceptable for authorities to “put their hands” on his colleagues. House Republicans have introduced measures to punish the Democrats involved in the altercation, including a censure resolution against McIver and a resolution to strip them of their committee assignments. Fox News reporter Chad Pergram shared on X last week that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said he believed there “needs to be an appropriate measure taken” as the “video doesn’t lie.” Johnson added, “I think it was wildly inappropriate for those members to do that and we’ll have to take appropriate action.” On Monday, House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) said in a statement, “Like most Americans, I am so tired of seeing those on the Left constantly get away with their lawless, criminal behavior. I fully support the Trump administration’s decision to charge Mrs. McIver, who sits on the Homeland Security Committee, of all places, for her actions that are clearly documented on video.” He added, “I will continue to work with House leadership to ensure we do our part to hold her accountable, as well. We need to send a clear message to would-be lawbreakers around this country — under this administration, no matter how privileged you are, you will be subject to the rule of law.”

Orphan Kitten Meets Another Cat Who Desperately Wants Companion, Now They Can't Get Enough of Each Other

An orphan kitten met another cat who desperately wanted a companion. Now, they can't get enough of each other. XavierWith GraceAbout a month ago, Danielle Chavez, the founder of With Grace, was contacted about a tiny kitten found in a feral cat colony. The mother cat left her two kittens behind after giving birth, and Xavier (the orange and white kitten) was the only survivor. Though the finder waited for hours, the mother never returned. "Thankfully, we have a pretty tight-knit rescue community," Danielle shared with Love Meow.Without missing a beat, she offered her help. With GraceThey gently warmed the kitten back to a healthy body temperature and started a round-the-clock feeding schedule. Nestled in a cozy incubator with a faux mama for company, the kitten fell fast asleep in his snug new nest."Once we got over the initial dehydration and got him warmed up, he's been a dream to care for." With GraceXavier's strong will to live shone through as he eagerly latched onto his bottle. With his foster parents' dedicated care, he quickly developed a healthy, round belly."As soon as we got him, our priority was finding a buddy around his age. [Single kittens] develop what's called Single Kitten Syndrome, so we do everything we possibly can to find them a buddy." With GraceAround that time, Danielle came across a post about another kitten in need that had been found in the community; he looked clean and healthy."It was clear that he had a good mama. This happens all too often—well-meaning citizens find a kitten alone and think the mama took off when, in reality, she was probably hiding or getting food somewhere." TristanWith Grace"We need to leave them be unless they are sick, or we are 100% sure Mama is not coming back. Kittens should only be removed when they are old enough to be away from their mother. In such cases, the mother should be trapped and spayed afterward."The newcomer, Tristan, arrived with stomach troubles, but with proper treatment, he was quickly on the mend. With Grace"Tristan is the sweetest little guy ever. He starts purring the moment you even glance in his direction. He's incredibly lovable, and his fluff is so soft. I just know he's going to be someone's soul cat."When Tristan discovered there was another kitten in the house, he was over the moon. With GraceOnce both kittens were given clean bills of health, it was time for their big introduction. Tristan was thrilled, eager to romp around, while Xavier was a bit surprised by his new buddy's enthusiasm. But it didn't take long for Xavier to warm up to him."Soon, Xavier was wrestling with Tristan, and the rest is history." Tristan and XavierWith Grace"Every time we walk into the foster room, they are either cuddling or playing together."Though they came from different mothers, they proved to be a perfect pair, their adorable personalities complementing each other beautifully. "Xavier is a little more reserved, while Tristan will start purring if you even look his way. They both just want to be picked up and loved on all of the time." With GraceXavier goes on new adventures with his best friend, who is constantly on the lookout for mischief. They spend most of their waking hours eating and wrestling, always side by side, like two peas in a pod. With GraceShare this story with your friends.
