Police receive call about scared sloth stranded on highway and jump into action to help

Imagine a world where highways are not just ribbons of asphalt cutting through the landscape but also unexpected crossroads for the wild inhabitants of our planet. For these creatures‚ a highway is a bewildering maze of fast-moving metal giants‚ a place where their instinctual understanding of the world falls short. It’s precisely in these moments... PBS Dismisses Biden's Documents‚ Memory With Yale Law Professor (Biden Donor!)

PBS Dismisses Biden's Documents‚ Memory With Yale Law Professor (Biden Donor!)

On Thursday's PBS NewsHour‚ the taxpayer-funded newscast labored to dismiss the special counsel's report on Biden's misuse of classified documents as nothing like Donald Trump's misuse‚ and turned to a Yale Law professor named Oona Hathaway to explain why no one should care about this‚ or Biden's failing mental capacity. They ran a clip of Biden proclaiming himself innocent. No Republicans were quoted in this report. Here's one way to know PBS rigged it: Oona Hathaway donated $1‚500 to Biden for President in 2020. This‚ actually‚ is a bit of pattern. She donated $1‚500 to Barack Obama in 2008 and $500 to Hillary Clinton in 2016. In 2010‚ she also has donated $1‚000 to Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Ct.) and $250 to Rep. Rosa DeLaura (D-Ct.) PBS didn't disclose that record.  Anchorman Geoff Bennett led Hathaway through the case. "So this investigation found that President Biden had willfully retained classified material after finishing his term as vice president and that he had shared sensitive information with a ghostwriter who helped him with his 2017 memoir. The president isn't facing charges in what would typically be considered a felony. Does this outcome comport with the facts and evidence in the case?" Hathaway naturally said yes‚ that "there are a number of reasons they don't think a jury would be inclined to believe that in fact he behaved willfully." Bennett just noted Biden read from the classified documents to his ghostwriter but hey‚ why would a juror find "he behaved willfully"? Bennett then nudged the professor to explain how Trump's case is much worse: "And the separate investigation into Donald Trump's mishandling of classified documents‚ that resulted in 40 criminal counts against him. Remind us of the significant differences here‚ why Donald Trump is being prosecuted and President Biden isn't." Hathaway’s defense of Biden omitted a major detail of Hur’s report‚ one Bennett himself had just raised: The 2017 recording of Biden acknowledging he had boxes of classified documents‚ contradicting the administration’s claim that all documents had been returned as soon as Biden became aware they were in his possession. This was the kicker‚ where Bennett quoted from Biden's angry lawyer about Hur's "highly prejudicial language" (yeah‚ the media never uses that) and whether Hur crossed a line into "excess" in his findings:  Geoff Bennett: And‚ on that point‚ Oona‚ the special counsel‚ Robert Hur‚ in this case‚ said that he chose not to bring charges in part because — this is from his report — "Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury‚ as he did during our interview with him‚ as a sympathetic‚ well-meaning‚ elderly man with a poor memory." Now‚ in response to this‚ the White House counsel and the president's personal attorney‚ Bob Bauer‚ wrote a letter where they took issue with that. And they said that: "The report uses highly prejudicial language to describe a commonplace occurrence among witnesses‚ which is a lack of recall after — of years-old events." This report reads like more than a recitation of facts. Does it cross the line into excess? She agreed:  Oona Hathaway: Well‚ it's interesting. I mean‚ the report‚ when you read it‚ it's clearly written for a public audience. It's not written like a normal legal document. It's not written in legalese‚ really. And certainly the beginning summary is written with a kind of audience in mind. It's written with a public audience in mind and certainly with reporters in mind. And it does characterize some of these events in ways that are kind of striking. That was one of the lines in particular that sort of jumps out. I mean‚ one way to read that and one way to say that differently would be to say‚ look‚ this is many years later‚ he doesn't remember the exact contents of the documents. And they go on later to explain that one of the reasons for that may be that‚ in fact‚ he may not even have known what documents exactly were removed from his office because he didn't actually pack many of these boxes himself. In fact‚ very — he didn't really pack any of these boxes himself. And he didn't direct that many of these documents be removed. And so the extent to which he actually knew some of these classified documents were in his office is hard to determine. And so when they were asking him some of these questions‚ he wasn't recalling all the details. And that makes it hard to prove‚ I mean‚ because you have to show that there was intent‚ that he knew he had classified documents‚ that he had removed them‚ he intentionally retained them‚ and he knew that in doing so that he was acting unlawfully. And that's what you have to prove to convince a jury to convict. And I think‚ rightfully‚ the special prosecutor here decided that they just didn't have the information that they would need to be able to convince a jury of that. PS: Here is the list of Hathaway's donations‚ which include $1‚600 in donations to Democrats other than those above. (Below this screen capture is $100 to David Samuel Friedman in 2002. In total‚ it's $6‚350 in cash‚ all to Democrats:

‘Who Among Us Hasn’t’ Confused Mexico/Egypt? Networks Defend Biden’s Blunder

President Biden embarrassed himself last night during a press conference to defend his mental acuity by mixing up Mexico and Egypt‚ counties not even on the same continent. But during the Friday morning newscasts of ABC’s Good Morning America‚ CBS Mornings‚ and NBC’s Today‚ the liberal media circled the wagons as they tried to ignore‚ downplay‚ and make excuses for Biden’s disastrous performance. One correspondent even suggested mixing Mexico and Egypt was a common occurrence. ABC’s chief White House correspondent and Biden apple polisher Mary Bruce was working hard as she tried to lionize Biden's anger at Special Counsel Robert Hur. “I don't recall the last time I saw the President this angry. Biden furious and frustrated‚ ripping into the special counsel for questioning his memory and recall‚” she boasted. Brice tried to downplay Biden’s blunder by arguing that he got it right eventually: Now‚ moments after defending his memory‚ the President mistakenly referred to the president of Egypt as the president of Mexico. He did later get it right. But look‚ the President clearly knows while legally this may be over‚ politically‚ this report can still do him some damage and that obviously angers him and is something‚ George‚ he's trying to get ahead of. Over on CBS‚ senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang tried to hide the mix-up while also touting Biden’s criticism of Israel; editing the clip to cut out Biden’s blunder: JIANG: The press conference was tense with reporters crammed together shouting questions. The president also offered his sharpest criticism yet of Israel when he was asked about its handling of the war against Hamas. BIDEN: The conduct of the response [long pause] in Gaza‚ in the Gaza Strip has been‚ um‚ over the top. [Cuts back to live]     Unfortunately‚ her effort to omit the mix-up from the show was blown up by CBS Mornings co-anchor Tony Dokoupil‚ who called it out directly. “And to be holding a press conference about your mental acuity and to mix up Egypt and Mexico. Mexico is not even in the conversation. No questions about Mexico. It’s not the topic of the press conference‚” he decried to senior White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe. O’Keefe responded by seriously suggesting that everyone has mixed up Mexico and Egypt. “And it was also about the southern border of Gaza‚ so he went to Mexico. Who among us hasn't screwed that up those two countries before? But we're not president‚” he rhetorically shrugged. Earlier in their discussion‚ O’Keefe lauded Biden for how “he leaned right into” the special counsel’s description of him. “[H]e leaned right into it last night and said I am a sympathetic elderly man who has a good memory! And that will be the thing he's got to convince and prove to voters over the next several months‚” he said. In a bit of a contrast on NBC‚ chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander highlighted Biden’s blunder (click “expand”): ALEXANDER: Adding that a jury would likely see the President “as a sympathetic‚ well-meaning‚ and elderly man with a poor memory.” PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: I'm well-meaning‚ and I'm an elderly man and know what the hell I'm doing. ALEXANDER: Moments later‚ the President confusing Mexico and Egypt when talking about the crisis in Gaza. BIDEN: The President of Mexico‚ el-Sisi did not want to open up the gate to allow humanitarian material to get in. But a few minutes later‚ Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie lamented that the special counsel’s report was “a body blow to President Biden in a place where he already was vulnerable.” She went on to whine about how the American people don’t seem to care about former President Trump’s mental acuity: I just have a few seconds Hallie‚ but I just have to ask – Listen‚ neither one of these candidates are young men‚ let's be honest‚ okay‚ and both have had senior moments. Donald Trump recently confusing Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi on January 6th. There have been other gaffes about the next -- we're going to start World War II and so forth. Do voters treat them equally in terms of that issue? While they mostly focus on the section of the report that documented how Biden had forgotten when his son Beau passed away‚ none of them mentioned that the report also noted that he had forgotten when he was vice president for President Barack Obama. The transcripts are below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s Good Morning America February 9‚ 2024 7:05:13 a.m. Eastern GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Mary‚ the President angry last night. MARY BRUCE: In fact‚ George‚ I don't recall the last time I saw the President this angry. Biden furious and frustrated‚ ripping into the special counsel for questioning his memory and recall. In this hastily arranged press event‚ the President doing a little damage control as his legal exoneration now threatens to become a political liability. [Cuts back to live] (…) 7:08:30 a.m. Eastern GAYLE KING: Let's start with President Biden having to defend his mental capabilities. Described in the report as “sympathetic‚ elderly man who is well meaning.” That is not how you want your president to be perceived. What do you make of that? ED O’KEEFE: No‚ but he leaned right into it last night and said I am a sympathetic elderly man who has a good memory! And that will be the thing he's got to convince and prove to voters over the next several months. I mean‚ yesterday‚ in many ways‚ encapsulated what so many voters tell us they're so worried about. Two guys‚ one who has to spent a lot of time this year in a courtroom‚ another who is perceived as a nice guy but perhaps too old and unable to do the job. And at this point they've got to figure out “which one of these guy do I prefer?” NATE BURLESON: Ed. To Gayle's point‚ perception is reality though‚ when it comes to the voters. This year's an important year. And when he has these moments -- and we were talking about this off air‚ Tony – I mean‚ this is something that is glaring moving into this year. TONY DOKOUPIL: And to be holding a press conference about your mental acuity and to mix-up Egypt and Mexico. Mexico is not even in the conversation. No questions about Mexico. It’s not the topic of the press conference. KING: Exactly. DOKOUPIL: It’s not a good look. O’KEFFE: No. And it was also about the southern border of Gaza‚ so he went to Mexico. Who among us hasn't screwed that up those two countries before? But we're not president. (…) NBC’s Today February 9‚ 2024 7:04:58 a.m. Eastern (…) PETER ALEXANDER: Adding that a jury would likely see the President “as a sympathetic‚ well-meaning‚ and elderly man with a poor memory.” PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: I'm well meaning‚ and I'm an elderly man and know what the hell I'm doing. (…) 7:06:59 a.m. Eastern SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Hallie‚ as you look at this and analyze this‚ I mean‚ it's a body blow to President Biden in a place where he already was vulnerable. How damaging do you think this could be? HALLIE JACKSON: Well‚ here's another phrase for it: “gut punch.” That's the way that one source described it to me. (…) 7:09:11 a.m. Eastern GUTHRIE: I just have a few seconds Hallie‚ but I just have to ask – Listen‚ neither one of these candidates are young men‚ let's be honest‚ okay‚ and both have had senior moments. Donald Trump recently confusing Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi on January 6th. There have been other gaffes about the next -- we're going to start World War II and so forth. Do voters treat them equally in terms of that issue? JACKSON: No‚ they don't. And we see that in the polls. Fewer than half of voters‚ Savannah‚ in our most recent poll have the same concerns about Donald Trump's age and mental fitness for the job than they do about President Biden for whatever reason that is. Peter Doocy confronts Biden with the perfect question after alarming report about his memory — and he doesn't like it

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked the question that everyone is thinking after special counsel Robert Hur released his damning report about President Joe Biden's classified documents scandal. After Biden defended himself in a brief speech — that showed more signs of Biden's cognitive decline — Doocy confronted Biden with Hur's description that Biden is a "well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory." Those circumstances‚ Hur's report explained‚ are the chief reason why he declined to prosecute Biden despite clear evidence that Biden broke the law."I'm well-meaning and I'm an elderly man‚ and I know what the hell I'm doing‚" Biden reacted. "I've been president and I put this country back on its feet. I don't need his recommendation."Doocy followed up with the million-dollar question."How bad is your memory? And can you continue as president?" he asked. But instead of providing the American people with a legitimate answer‚ Biden chose to attack Doocy with sarcasm."My memory is so bad‚ I let you speak‚" the president quipped. — (@) Biden spent the remaining question-and-answer time attacking the press and Hur's report. Not only did he mock questions about his memory‚ but Biden dismissed concerns that voters have about his mental and physical health‚ refused to take responsibility for improperly storing highly classified documents (he blamed his staff)‚ asserted that he is the "most qualified" American to be president‚ denied sharing classified information with his ghostwriter‚ and claimed he did not break the law.Hur's report‚ however‚ revealed that Biden did share classified information with his ghostwriter‚ and the report certainly did not absolve him of breaking the law."Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen‚" the report states.Biden's public reaction to the report‚ his inability to grapple with the facts‚ and his decision to lash out at the media have some Democrats wondering why the White House thought the press conference was a good idea because‚ if one thing is for certain‚ it did not help him.Like Blaze News? Gina Carano reveals why she’s suing Disney with Elon Musk

Actress Gina Carano is teaming up with Elon Musk and X to sue Disney and Lucasfilm after they trashed her name and fired her from "The Mandalorian." Carano was fired after likening the treatment of American conservatives to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany. The lawsuit alleges that she was fired for daring to voice her own opinions against an “online bully mob who demanded her compliance with their extreme progressive ideology.” Carano reveals to Glenn Beck that the lawsuit came to be soon after she gave it up to God‚ when she received an email from a lawyer hired by Elon Musk to inquire about her case. “I was just so excited‚ and I emailed him back immediately‚” Carano tells Glenn‚ adding that “they were kind of dumbfounded about how this happened.” While Carano’s co-star had tweeted a similar metaphor comparing conservatives to Nazis‚ the co-star faced no repercussions. “You had to have gone‚ ‘Guys‚ wait a minute‚ hold it‚’” Glenn says regarding her co-star‚ but Carano didn’t have the chance to say anything. “They didn’t even contact me to let me know they were letting me go‚” she says. “They didn’t contact me to let me know that there was about to be paparazzi‚ stalkers‚ and people flooding outside my house.” “I found all of that out just like everybody else did‚ over the internet‚” she continues. “I couldn’t leave my house for seven days. I was being stalked; I was being harassed.” “They definitely put my life in danger at that moment‚” she adds. Disney Plus sheds 1.3 million subscribers after price hike — but expects more than 7 million Americans to sign up soon

Disney's streaming service dropped over a million subscribers in the first quarter of 2024‚ but executives were able to provide investors with enough good news that shares in the company jumped by around 10%.During an earnings call for the first quarter of the fiscal year‚ chief financial officer Hugh Johnston dropped the bomb on investors that 1.3 million Disney+ core subscribers had left the platform since Q4 2023. However‚ the CFO said that it was an "expected temporary uptick in churn‚ given the recent domestic price increases‚ as well as the end of the global summer promotion."Disney reportedly offered new and returning users a three-month subscription for just $1.99 in 2023‚ Bounding into Comics reported.Disney brass stated not only that ad revenue cut into those losses but also that the newly acquired platform Hulu gained 1.2 million subscribers in the same time frame. The mouse brand picked up the remaining 33% of shares in Hulu owned by Comcast in November 2023 for around $8.6 billion. The price increases weren't all bad for Disney+ either. The 27% hike garnered an average revenue per user increase of $0.14 since the last quarter and $1.07 compared to the prior year. The company also expects a strong bounce back in the second quarter of 2024‚ netting between 5.5 and 6 million subscribers. While expecting to add 7.5 million domestic users‚ Disney thinks it will lose international subscribers based on "certain wholesale deals and slightly elevated churn impacts from price increases."All this news translated to a big jump in the Walt Disney Company stock price. After closing out February 7‚ 2024 (the day of the call)‚ at around $99.28 per share‚ investors woke up to a price of about $107.10 per share. This marked one of the biggest stock price jumps in the last year for the company.Of course‚ the $108 stock price (as of this writing) is nowhere near the $189 five-year peak the company saw in February 2021‚ presumably when citizens were still being forced by their governments to sit at home.A pending lawsuit by former Disney+ star Gina Carano hasn't seemed to affect the brand at all‚ either. Carano spent two seasons on the Disney+ hit "Star Wars" series "The Mandalorian." Despite the success of the show and Carano's obvious popularity with fans‚ Disney executives fired her‚ claiming that some of her social media posts were not in keeping with the company's "values."She has alleged wrongful termination and discrimination. Interestingly enough‚ her firing also occurred in February 2021.According to a recent study Democrats use Disney+ at a higher rate than Republicans; 39% of Democrats subscribe to the platform versus 31% of Republicans.Like Blaze News? Newsom responds to Oakland's crime surge by sending more attorneys after DA's leftist policies prompted prosecutors to quit

California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom's office announced Thursday that it plans to tackle Oakland's crime surge by sending more attorneys to assist Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price.A press release from the governor's office stated that Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta "launch[ed] a new partnership" with Price "to increase the capacity to prosecute suspects involved in violent crimes‚ serious drug-related crimes‚ and property crimes — including retail theft and auto burglary — in Oakland and the East Bay.""The partnership will result in the deployment of deputy attorneys general from the California Department of Justice and attorneys from the California National Guard — adding capacity to prosecute suspects arrested for serious and complex crimes in Alameda County‚" the press release added.Newsom's office claimed that the new partnership will "boost law enforcement capacity in Oakland and the East Bay‚" an area recently plagued by rampant criminal activity. The additional attorneys will focus their attention on investigating and prosecuting individuals suspected of committing violent‚ property‚ and drug-related offenses."An arrest isn't enough. Justice demands that suspects are appropriately prosecuted. Whether it's 'bipping' or carjacking‚ attempted murder or fentanyl trafficking‚ individuals must be held accountable for their crimes using the full and appropriate weight of the law‚" Newsom stated. The term "bipping" refers to a method used by car burglars to break into vehicles quietly.Price welcomed Newsom's decision to send additional attorneys to help combat "organized retail crime and the scourge of fentanyl in our community.""I am assigning Alameda County career prosecutor Assistant DA Michael Nieto to represent my office in this collaborative effort‚" Price said. The leftist DA is currently facing a recall effort over her soft-on-crime policies that have prompted several prosecutors to resign. According to a recent report from the Oaklandside‚ the recall campaign has spent $2.2 million since its launch and is backed mainly by financiers and real estate interests. Price's critics must obtain at least 73‚195 signatures by mid-March to get the recall on the ballot.Price has been blasted by local residents and Oakland's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for her "progressive policies and failed leadership." Despite the criticism‚ Price continues to tout her "restorative justice" policies‚ which she claims have closed the gap on racial disparities in the criminal justice system.During a July interview with KPIX-TV‚ the controversial DA responded to her critics by stating that her position "has really no impact on crime." Yet despite Price's baffling statement‚ Newsom now claims his administration is combatting crime by sending the DA additional attorneys. On Tuesday‚ the governor announced that he would send 120 California Highway Patrol officers to Oakland and East Bay "to crack down" on the "alarming and unacceptable" crime wave‚ Blaze News previously reported. State officers will work with local law enforcement agencies to curb violent crime‚ auto theft‚ cargo theft‚ and retail theft. The additional units will also allow for "high-visibility traffic enforcement."In 2023‚ the city's violent crime increased by 21%‚ robberies by 38%‚ and vehicle thefts by 45%.Several businesses‚ including Denny's‚ In-N-Out‚ Black Bear Diner‚ Subway‚ and Starbucks have decided to close up shop due to the area's crime surge. Other large companies‚ including Clorox Company‚ Blue Shield of California‚ and Kaiser Permanente‚ that are opting to stay have beefed up their security to protect employees.Like Blaze News? Trump likely won the 2020 election after all

Trump likely won the 2020 election after all

According to the legacy news networks‚ social media platforms‚ various deep state actors‚ and other corrupt institutions‚ the 2020 election was the safest and most secure in history and anyone who questioned Joe Biden’s victory was a wacky “election denier.” That has been the dominant narrative for the past three years‚ which has produced a chilling effect and caused many to forgo conducting a deep dive concerning whether the 2020 election really was as safe and secure as we have been told it was. It is incumbent upon the 50 states to ensure that their voting systems are as safe and secure as possible. We still have time to make necessary changes. In reality‚ the 2020 election was most likely marred by widespread mail-in voting fraud. And even worse‚ the extensive mail-in voter fraud almost certainly tipped the election in favor of Joe Biden. In other words‚ had rampant mail-in voter fraud been prevented in the 2020 election‚ Donald Trump would have won the Electoral College and been re-elected to a second term. At this point‚ you may be wondering how I can be so sure that the 2020 election was tainted by mail-in voter fraud. The answer is simple: The voters have told us so. In late 2023‚ the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports conducted a simple survey to gauge the degree of voter fraud in the 2020 election. We asked 1‚085 voters who participated in the 2020 election about their voting behaviors three years prior. To our surprise‚ the results showed that at least one in five mail-in voters admitted to committing ballot fraud in the 2020 election. Our findings caused quite a stir in the media‚ especially among those who suspected the 2020 election was not completely secure due to the dubious changes to voting rules state officials unconstitutionally imposed under the cover of COVID-19. Shortly after the poll was released‚ former President Trump called it “the most important poll released in the last 20 years” and “the biggest story of the year.” Eventually‚ we began to wonder if we could apply the poll results to publicly available election data to determine whether mail-in voter fraud impacted the outcome of the election. This was no easy task. After extensive analysis using the raw survey data provided by Rasmussen coupled with state-based and other reputable sources documenting mail-in vote totals‚ we concluded that mail-in voter fraud almost certainly changed the 2020 election outcome in all six of the crucial swing states. This is all laid out in great detail in the Heartland Institute’s latest policy study‚ aptly titled “Who Really Won the 2020 Election?” (Spoiler alert: not Joe Biden.) Here are just a few of the main takeaways: Upon further analysis of the Rasmussen survey data‚ we found that more than one in four mail-in voters (28.2%‚ to be precise) admitted to committing at least one kind of election fraud in the 2020 election. Under multiple scenarios‚ with differing rates of mail-in voter fraud taken into account‚ our results indicate that Trump would have won the Electoral College in the 2020 election had fraudulent mail-in ballots not been counted. Even if the level of fraud detected in the Heartland/Rasmussen survey substantially overstated mail-in voter fraud by multiple orders of magnitude‚ Trump would likely still have won the 2020 election. According to the official 2020 election results‚ Biden defeated Trump in the Electoral College 306 to 232. The national vote tally was similarly lopsided‚ with Biden receiving approximately 81 million votes to Trump’s 74 million votes. In almost all the hypothetical scenarios we lay out‚ Trump would have won enough Electoral College votes to defeat Biden soundly. But the 2020 election‚ like most recent national elections‚ was ultimately decided in the swing states. In 2020‚ Biden won each of the six swing states by fewer than 20‚000 votes‚ a tiny margin in the context of the overall vote. But here’s the rub: When we extrapolated for mail-in voter fraud in the six crucial swing states‚ using state-specific mail-in voter data and accounting for a variety of fraud rates (from the 28% level all the way down to the 1% level)‚ the Electoral College vote changed considerably. In almost all the hypothetical scenarios we lay out‚ Trump would have won enough Electoral College votes to defeat Biden soundly. In other words‚ Biden’s Electoral College victory‚ although seemingly large‚ was predicated on razor-thin margins in all six of the swing states. We know for a fact that each of the six swing states changed its election rules in the months leading up to the 2020 election to allow for mass mail-in voting based on inaccurate state voter registration rolls. We also know that several of these states made it easy for mail-in voting fraud to be committed by eliminating common-sense guardrails like signature verification and permitting shady election practices to take place like ballot harvesting. So it stands to reason that these unprecedented last-minute changes to voting procedures likely resulted in a flood of fraudulent ballots being counted. It also stands to reason that widespread mail-in voter fraud in the 2020 election disproportionately benefitted Joe Biden‚ seeing that he received more than twice as many mail-in votes as Trump. When considering all these factors‚ it seems obvious that Biden’s 2020 victory was aided and abetted by rampant mail-in voter fraud. But as they say‚ what’s done is done. It does no good to cry over spilled milk or shady elections. With less than nine months before the 2024 presidential election‚ however‚ we must ensure that this does not happen again. It is incumbent upon the 50 states to ensure that their voting systems are as safe and secure as possible. We still have time to make necessary changes. Going forward‚ will enough states do the right thing? Or‚ like so many other things in today’s upside-down world‚ is the quaint American tradition of free and fair elections a vestige of the past?

Migrant shelters in the sanctuary city of Denver‚ Colorado‚ have reached capacity and started kicking out families‚ Fox News Digital reported this week.According to the news outlet‚ approximately 800 migrant families that are currently residing in Denver's shelters will be forced to leave as new arrivals continue to pour into the city. On Monday‚ 140 of the families were ejected from the shelters‚ city officials reported. Over the next few weeks‚ the remaining families will be forced to find other accommodations. Newsweek reported that the forced evictions could impact more than 3‚000 individuals.Denver has begun enforcing stay limits since its shelters have reached capacity with roughly 3‚813 people. According to the city‚ it has supported 38‚380 migrants to the tune of $42 million‚ as of February 5. Due to the increased financial burden‚ the city estimates it could be forced to "cut as much as $180 million from its annual budget."Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston stated last week‚ "We have filled every single hotel room that we have available in the city and county of Denver.""Now we have the terrible decision that if we don't start exiting folks‚ we will have 250 folks that will arrive today or the day after who don't have anywhere to go at night‚" he added.Johnston's press secretary‚ Jordan Fuja‚ told Newsweek that Denver is "out of shelter space.""We are out of staff. And we are facing a budget deficit of up to $180 million to cover sheltering costs‚" Fuja said. "If the federal government does not succeed in passing common-sense support for cities‚ it will mean significant budget cuts for cities like Denver and significantly scaling back sheltering services for migrants.""Denver is facing humanitarian and fiscal crises with the influx of arrivals to our city and limited resources‚" Fuja added.Laura Swartz‚ a Denver Department of Finance spokesperson‚ noted that the city is already pulling funds out of its contingency reserves to help cover the costs of supporting the migrant crisis. Those funds are expected to run out around April. The city's hospitals are also feeling the weight. Fox News Digital reported that Denver Health had served 8‚000 illegal migrants‚ recording about 20‚000 visits last year. The migrants received services including emergency room treatments‚ primary care‚ dental care‚ and childbirth‚ the news outlet stated. As a result‚ the Denver Health system is facing a financial shortfall of $22 million.KUSA reported earlier this week that other Colorado cities are not stepping up to help Denver. Ryan Trujillo‚ deputy chief of staff for operations for the mayor of Colorado Springs‚ stated that his city "definitely do[es] not want to welcome this crisis to our community.""We recognize that Denver is in crisis mode‚ though we do not have the resources to house an influx of migrant population‚" Trujillo remarked.Meanwhile‚ residents in Lakewood are concerned that city officials have plans to convert their community into another sanctuary city.Karen Morgan‚ a Lakewood resident‚ told KDVR that officials have not used the word "sanctuary" but have used terms such as "good neighbor‚ welcoming‚ inclusive‚ supporting‚ sheltering."City officials pushed back on the rumors‚ stating‚ "Lakewood City Council is not considering designating Lakewood as a 'sanctuary city.'"The city's mayor‚ Wendi Strom‚ said‚ "I would like to make it very clear that City Council has never‚ in my time sitting on council‚ has never had a conversation around becoming a sanctuary city.""I have met with my city manager … and there was not a request for Lakewood to house migrants at all‚" Strom continued. "This has created a lot of frustration and anger in our community that is not necessary. We are not making these big‚ sweeping changes. And these would be changes that we would bring to the public if that was something that we were going to do. But that's not happening."Like Blaze News? Alabama thieves steal 200-foot radio tower without anyone noticing‚ knocking AM station off the air

A landscaper in Jasper‚ Alabama‚ was doing a property cleanup when the crew discovered that a 200-foot radio tower was missing.Brett Elmore‚ general manager of WJLX‚ said that every piece of equipment at the radio tower's site had been stolen and the wires cut out."This is going to get out eventually‚ so I might as well make it public before it does‚" Elmore wrote on Facebook. "I have heard of thieves in this area stealing anything‚ but this one takes the cake. This morning‚ my bush hog crew went down to a tower site we have ... when [they] arrived‚ he called and notified me that not only was my building vandalized‚ but my TWO HUNDRED FOOT TOWER WAS GONE!" the radio manager wrote."They stole every piece of equipment out of the building‚ cut the guy wires to the tower and SOMEHOW managed to down a 200' tower and take it from the property‚" Elmore added. The radio tower is about 70 years old‚ and its absence has completely knocked the AM radio station off the airwaves. In addition to that‚ the local FM radio station has been pulled down also. The FCC even denied Elmore's request to make an exception to its rule that says FM translators are prohibited from operating if the AM primary station is off the air as well."Even given the unfortunate circumstances you describe. W268BM must cease operation while WJLX remains off the air‚" a response from the FCC read‚ according to CNN.The radio station has since switched to online-only since it cannot afford the costs to restore the 1240 AM frequency."We shut down our transmitter and our programming will be streamed via internet and our apps only until we can restore our 1240 AM frequency‚" the station's website read."We did not have insurance on this facility. We have been given estimates of $60‚000+ to build back and get our station on the air."The station has started a GoFundMe campaign‚ hoping to raise the $60‚000 required for new equipment. The station manager told reporters that it is a "federal offense" to tamper with a broadcast facility and that he will be "satisfied" when the thieves are caught."We will build back bigger and stronger — and will be back on the air soon!!"Like Blaze News?
