The “Am I Racist?” soundtrack has cracked the Top 10 on the iTunes soundtrack chart following the release over the weekend of The Daily Wire original film, in which Matt Walsh goes deep undercover to expose the world of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). On Monday, Christian rap artist Bryson Gray, shared the news on X that his song, “Am I Racist?” featured on the movie’s soundtrack, was in the #7 position on the soundtrack music chart before sharing that it had moved up again. “The title track for @MattWalshBlog film “Am I Racist?” Featuring me is now #7 on the soundtrack iTunes Charts!” Gray wrote to his hundreds of thousands of followers. “6 spots away from number 1,” he added. “Let me know if you need the link! Let’s get it there!” A short time later, he shared a post from one of his followers who shared that the song had since moved up on the music chart. “Up to #6! So far mainstream critics have mostly ignored the film’s existence even as viewers flock to Rotten Tomatoes to rave about it. As of Sunday afternoon, “Am I Racist?” has a 99% audience score on the site, with more than 500 verified reviewers weighing in.  The most surprising feedback comes from several moviegoers who admit that even if they disagree with Walsh on other points, they were fans of the film. Many of these reviews came from the Reddit subthread r/boxoffice. “Saw it yesterday. I’m not a Matt Walsh fan, but I really enjoyed it,” one person wrote. “It’s not making claims like ‘Racism doesn’t exist’ or anything like that. It’s all about exposing the anti-racist and DEI grifters who profit off of nonsense. Right wing Borat is a pretty accurate statement, but I honestly found this to be a lot funnier than Borat 2.”  “Even if you don’t like Walsh I think you should give it a chance, it’s really not as political as I think many would expect it to be,” the reviewer added. The Daily Wire entered the entertainment space in 2021 with a mission to disrupt Hollywood. Rachel Vindman, whose husband Alexander Vindman was a key witness in the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump, backpedaled on Monday after facing a virtual tidal wave of backlash for something she said about the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life. In her initial post, Vindman referenced the first assassination attempt — which took place on July 13th in Pennsylvania — where firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed, two others were seriously injured, and Trump was shot in the ear. Because the shooter on Sunday was apprehended without ever firing a shot at Trump, she said. “No ears were harmed. Carry one with your Sunday afternoon.” She later doubled down, saying that she was not even a little bit sorry for “triggering” people with her comment. But by Monday, she had changed her tune. A Dominican national pleaded guilty to operating an illegal migrant smuggling operation that resulted in the death of 11 people, the Department of Justice (DOJ) reported. Fermin Montilla, a 45-year old Dominican national, pleaded guilty after being charged with “bringing aliens to the United States at a place other than a designated point of entry resulting in death,” a press release from the DOJ found. “According to court documents, Montilla was involved in a maritime human smuggling venture that attempted to bring migrants illegally to the United States,” the press release explains. The illegal migrant smuggler, who now faces a sentence of up to life in prison, attempted to smuggle 48 illegal immigrants into the United States in 2022. Montilla was among 38 people who were rescued by the United States Coast Guard after his vessel capsized off the coast of Puerto Rico. The case comes as migrant fatalities have surged in recent years. Data from the International Organization for Migration, a pro-mass immigration organization associated with the United Nations, indicates that there were 686 migrant deaths along the land route leading to the southern border in 2022 alone. Illegal immigrants have also attempted to enter the United States by sea under the Biden-Harris administration, which has presided over an unprecedented immigration crisis. One video from December documented a migrant landing on the beaches of Malibu, with 25 illegal aliens rushing out of a 25-foot boat and onto the shore of one of the wealthiest communities in the United States. Kevin Hart’s plant-based fast-food chain suddenly closed all its locations in the Los Angeles area two years after it opened, with only a message on Instagram about starting a “new chapter.” In a post last week on social media from the account of Hart House, the vegan fast food chain owned by the 45-year-old comedian, a message read, “A Hartfelt goodbye for now as we start a new chapter,” the New York Post reported. “Thank you,” it added. “To our team, guests, and community, who helped make the change we all craved.” The Los Angeles dining guide Eater confirmed the closures with a statement from Hart House’s CEO Andy Hooper.  “The response to the product has been incredible, and we thank our committed team, our customers, and our community partners for helping make the change we all craved, and for their unwavering support of Hart House,” Hooper told the outlet.
